Stress Test didn't go so well

It appears I have a heart issue called

Wolff-Parkinson-White syndrome

Never heard of it and don't know what it is.

But now I have to be cleared by a cardiologist to see if I can even have surgery now.  I cried there, crying now and I'm worried about my job because of all the time off.  It all can't be good.

I'm so stressed out.  Also I have to come up with $450 before my surgery that I wasn't told about, to pay off my deductible and there is no way I can find that cash.  Everyone I know is in the same boat as us.  I don't know if it's all worth it.  Damn, all I wanted to be is healthy.  Is that really too much to ask for?

What a crappy day.

Highest: 245 / Surg Day: 233 / Now: 166 / Dr's Goal: 130

I can so relate.  I was referred to a cardiologist before the surgery.  I took the very expensive stress test and they showed a major clogged artery.  I was scheduled within a few days for an angiogram knowing that I would either have angioplast or open heart surgery.  I saw the clog, and the doctors saw the clog also.  When they went in they could find nothing and they ran the test for a 2nd time same answer nothing is wrong with my heart  I know that money can be an huge issue, but for your help somehow come up with the money it is all way worth it.

Turtle Gurl, I'm so sorry ... I know how frustrating it is when you want to do something and it doesn't happen the way you want it to. Just remember that everything happens for a reason and in the end, it all works out the way it's supposed to. I wish you the best and I hope you keep us posted on what happens from here!

Rhonda, did they give you any reason or explanation as to why they can't find the clog that they saw when they did the stress test? That's so weird!

Hi Lauren the only expllantion they could come up with is that it was a shadow from my large boobs!  Damn these boobs.  My cardiologist had all his cardiologist team look at it and the radiologist head and they all saw it to.  And the only explanation they can think of is that my boobs caused it.  Go figure.  Rhonda

That's quite a scare to be caused by boobs! Wow! I know it's not a funny situation and you were probably scared to death but I hope you at least got a laugh out of it!

Hey Turtle Gurl, sorry you're having such a rough time. Can't they bill you for the co-pay? When I had my surgery at Scripps, thry billed me for the $800 co-pay and i make monthly payments on it.

Dear Turtle,

I look on line about this and it seems sometimes you don't know about this until you do a stress test... don't give up yet... see what the cardiologist has to say... in one of my classes at kaiser, this guy had all these heart problems and was in his sixtys, and he was lucky enough to have this surgery.. so wait until you find out relax.... try looking online for the wolff parkinson white syndrome..... Just Breathe..
and as for the money I know what you mean when you say all your friends our in the same boat.. 450 might seem like a million right now... but you will find away ...Cate

This could all work out to improve your health in the long run. Hang in there. As far as the money talk with the billing dept. about monthly payments.

I'm so sorry to hear this.. and I know how frustrated,  and upset you must be.  But, think of it this way,  they want to be sure you and your body are healthy enough for the surgery.  It would be so much worse to go under, and not come back.  Any surgery is a risk,  and it's always better safe than sorry.

I hope everything works out for you.  Keep your chin up!

Sooo Sorry--I had to go to a cardiologist because ofmy age (59) and found out I had had a "cardiac event" sometime in my life--caused my heart to be a bit enlarged and a bit irregular.  It did not stop me from surgery.  So don't give up hope.  They can take care of a lot of things medically.  I'll start sending positive thoughts in your direction.  You take a deep breath and keep us up to date.
