How long before you can have a glass of wine?

I had a ****tail at the office Holiday party 4 months out.  But you really should contact your surgeon regarding their protocol.

Most definatley check wtih your surgeon and go by his word!!  My surgeon let me have wine at 6 months out. 

I will be perfectly honest with you.. be careful when you drink!  WLS patients get drunk quicker than other people.  Also, you never really know just how much of the booze you will actually absorb. You never know just how strong it will effect you! So there are times when 1drink may knock you flat on your butt.  So if you do decide to drink, make sure you do it first at home..  and when you do drink out in public make sure you are with people you trust.  And never ever ever drive.  I was told wls people can test 3 times what they actually drank.  And it is definatley always better to be safe than sorry!

So if you get your surgeon's blessing.. take it very slow at first!  You will be a cheap date!!!

I can't drink wine at all, and I'm almost 3 1/2 years out.  It has too much sugar and I dump big time!

I haven't had my surgery yet  but that is what I'm dreading the most.  Not being able to enjoy a glass of wine.  Some people have a last meal before surgery, I'll be having a last bottle...or two.

This is a biggie for me too.  I'm going to miss hanging out on the weekends getting a buzz with the neighbors, lol  But at least I'll be lookin good, hahaha!

I'm watching the clock right now waiting for 8:00 so I can sit down (kids in bed) and watch Big Brother with my glass of wine and a little cheese.  Come on 8:00!
