Hi, I'm new to this!

Hello everyone! I'm Candy.  I just set up my profile here.  I am scheduled for the Lap Band on Sept 9th.  I am rather nervous and overwhelmed.  I NEED a support group to atten in the L.A Area and I'm struggling on a pre-op full liquid diet.  Help!!!!!!

I had the RNY done and I don't know of any support groups in LA., Steve does post a list of support groups in different areas.

Hi Candy... I don't know of any groups in the LA area either but I do want to welcome you to OH.  This place has been a God send for me.   Anyway... Congratulations on your surgery date and good luck!

Thanx 4 the welcome guys!     I'm really nervous! I've never been in the hospital nor put to sleep.  Any words of comfort and/or wisdom?  what should I really expect?

Do worry, you'll be just fine.  I couldn't believe how great I felt after surgery.  I was also so nervous, but with this site it really eased the nerves.

I'm not sure how different the lap-band is from the RNY as to what you could eat after surgery, but just be prepared...as for me it helped to have all the SF popsicles, SF Jell-o , SF broth, and protein at the house before surgery.
