Gosh..Does anyone from the the cali forum ever go into the RNY forum?.There are some very aggressive people in there. They have very valid, educated opinions, but the communication style is very "in your face".  A good communicator should adjust their style according to the audiance. ...

I have never been there...should go check it out...too bad you had a bad experience! Oh and for sure I could not agree with you more about being a good communicator...also a good communicator is someone who listens too and makes educated responses!

I know for myself I need a good ass kicking when I screw up.  I need someone to tell me how it is.  Yes some people take it a little overboard with their comments. But for me I need that to keep me on track.  I wish my mama would have slapped me around more when I was a kid.

Yes that and the main board are scary!  I don't like it, don't like the "feeling" over there.  I like it here in PLEASANT California!

It sucks that people have to be in each others faces about stuff.  People really need to get OFF these boards and get a life, seriously.  Some just sit here all day and live their lives on forums and take everything so seriously.  Oh well, everything in moderation, right?   heh heh heh

Ha ha ha, I go there, but I've learned to pick and choose what I say.  I know what your talking about, some "preach" and I feel any WLS will be a life long learning process. Some will "fall off the wagon" and there is a nice and polite way to encourage and not bash or try to make someone feel "stupid".  Everyone knowledge is somewhat based on their own peronal experiences. And most of them are newly post-op. I take their advice as "opinions", becuase not every shoe fits ya know.  Some on there like to say they "tell it like it is" or "don't rainbow sprinkle" stuff for you. But being harsh and rude just drives people away and NO ONE likes a "know it all"

Thanks for the replies...I have no problem with being straight forward without the sugar coating as long as the intent is to help someone. After all the website is called "Obesity Help" Duh!...I really do believe there are handful of people that are trying to educate the newbies. We wouldn't be here if we had our problem under control and some people have an excuse for everything. But rest of them are not there to help anyone, they are just a bunch of leaches and there to be entertained at the expense of another. (now that is low self esteem!) Good god ...get a life!
