Protein drinks?

Whenever I drink my protein drink within 5 mins I have to run to the potty and it runs right through me. I didn't have this problem before my surgery so why is this happening now? Oh and I have two different kinds of drinks they both do the same thing. I still need these b/c Im still on mushy foods. help...

Check the labels to see if they contain sugar alcohols--you may be more sensitive to them since surgery.

Are you making these protein shakes with milk or water? Or are they premade? I had a HUGE problem with milk straight out of surgery, where it would go right through me.. but I kept drinking it (nonfat only) and was finally able to handle it!

I still do protein shakes, but use SunMilk and haven't had a problem with it. My pouchy gets grouchy with premade protein shakes.

Same here...There are a few protein products that run through me too. Try soy protein.
