Biotin

About 2 months ago, I started taking 5000 mg of Biotin twice a day on the advice of a good friend who said it would help minimize my hair loss after surgery.  I've always been very very thin on top coupled with extreme baby fine hair.  I need to keep everything I can!!!  Well, I went to my stylist on Friday and lo and behold I have a serious crop of new hair-lets growing outta the top in the thin area!  I had felt the "nubbies" but didn't even ever dream that the 6" x 3" area on top would begin to grow and fill in!

And, the serious dry skin and cuticles on my hands are incredibly improved.  I am jumping for joy!

I HAVE BEEN TAKING IT FOR ALMOST 4 YEARS NOW AND I HAVE HAIR THAT I NEVER HAD BEFORE AND IT'S DOWN TO MY WAIST. I HAVE NEVER BEEN ABLE TO GROWN MY HAIR THAT LONG. I AM STILL TAKING IT AND PROBABLY ALWAYS WILL. MY DAUGHTER JUST FOUND AT WALMART MADE BE REXALL SUPPER POTENCY BIOTIN SO I AM GOING WITH THAT. IT'S 5000MCG I DIDN'T KNOW IF IT WAS OK TO TAKE 10,00O OR NOT I JUST MAY GIVE IT A SHOT. OH AND MY NAILS GROW LIKE WEEDS.

GOT TO LOVE THAT BIOTIN AND THE PRICE IS GREAT TOO,

CONGRATS ON THE NEW SIZEABLE HAIR GROWTH.

HAVE A GREAT DAY

It's the Rexall Super Potentcy 5000 msc.  It's awsome, cheap and holy cow it works!  And it comes in capsule so I can take it apart and put it in liquids or soft food when I get to that point.

Thanks for the info.  I am going to buy some today  I also have a thyroid problem so I have on again off again hair loss.  I was so worried that I would lose more after surgery.

Linda

I think I remember someone mentioning Biotin before, but I never bought any.  Now I will

I have been taking 5,000mcg Biotin per day since 6 months before surgery. I stopped for about 2 months after surgery then started up again, but now I take 10,000mcg./day. My nails grow like weeds and my skin is really nice too. I started loosing my hair at 3 moths post-op. I have very very baby fine hair. It grows quickly too. I keep it short right now due to the hair loss, but I have noticed som new "buds" growing. The biotin really helps with the thickness of the hair. I love it! lol

I've been taking it too for maybe a little over a month?

My nails are getting stronger and I actually polished them this weekend, they were too weak to do so before!

Don't notice anything with the hair yet.  I do notice the older I get the thinner my hair is :(  Maybe it's the black that makes it more noticeable.  It sucks.  Hope it can help that too eventually.

Where do you find 5000msc Biotin at, I have only been able to find 1000mc
here is Orange County.  I too have thyroid issues and fight the thin hair as well.

Thanks, Katie
