recommendation for reversal
Today my surgeon recommended that i have a reversal of my gastric bypass. Has anyone been recommended this by their surgeon and avoided or decided against it? what was your outcome? I never expected to have this drastic of a recommendation. It's been a tough day.

Robert... you just asked me a question i failed to ask but would like to know.. if it is done laparoscopically or not.. and yes Dr. Coirin said he would do the surgery. He did say that the hospital stay is consideridably longer than the RNY..at 10 days and the surgery has more risk associated with it.
Dr. Coirin is recommending the surgery due to complications Iam having. It is very complicated and long to describe here... but in short.. Iam basically having a hard time with nutritional deficiency's, digestion, anemia and suddenly started losing weight again as a result. It is suspected that I have bacterial overgrowth in the bypassed limb, very rapid transent and or issues with my pancreas. It's been 4 years since my surgery. He feels I will get worse if we don't do it. Iam also seeing an oncologist, gi specialist and rheumatologist who are looking at things too.
Iam really trying hard to rest, eat, take vitamins, rest, eat, take vitamins,rest,eat..hopefully i can avoid such a drastic measure.
