Kaiser Question . . .

I would like to know approx how much did people have to pay to have their surgery through Kaiser ??  What about when you need fills for the lap-band ??

I only had to pay for my office visits. ($15)

But I am RNY, so no fills here.

I heard, that the fills can be as high as $150, but that is just second hand info.

I bet if you CALLED and ask someone at Kaiser, you would get a true answer.

 I have crappy Kaiser insurance because my husband is self employed. My copays are $50 and I had to pay $500 a day in the hospital. UGH! It beats having to pay for the whole surgery. My "bill" said it was like 68K. Sorry, I have no clue about fills.

It depends on what your clause is in your insurance.  I had the VSG and no cost for the surgery (ie surgeon or hospital) the few times I went to the surgeon I have a $10 co pay.

I had RNY and I did not have to pay for the surgeon or the hospital stay.   I did not know Kaiser was authorizing Lap Band.

 

 

Yes Kaiser in Northern California does Lap -Band as well . . . . .  Kaiser Richmond, Fremont and South San Francisco

So Kaiser in N. California is different than Kaiser in So. California.  Good to know.

I had an open RNY, stayed extra days in the hospital (read my profile to find out why), and only paid $10 for my prescriptions.  And . . . I had surgery through Pacific Bariatrics in San Diego and was not at a Kaiser facility.
