Update on MadameJoy
Hi all,
As Joy's Surgery Angel, I wanted to let everyone know that she is alive and kicking (although a little hopped up on Morphine!) She wanted me to update and let everyone know she came through well. Dr. Coates did his magic as usual and when I was leaving the hospital this evening, she was about to get up to walk!
She was having some gas pain in between her shoulder blades, and I let her know that is pretty typical. Her mouth was dry, but she was sucking down some ice chips like no tomorrow! : )
Anyway, I will update if there is any new news tomorrow.
Move over everyone, we have another loser on our bench!!!

Hi Sue,
Yes, I think typically your Angel is supposed to be support for you while you are in the hospital. And it could be at all kinds of levels. It's just a great way to have some extra love and support coming your way at a critical time in your life. Not everyone needs or wants an Angel, but for some it is helpful. I had a terrific Angel- Tiffany- and I was so thankful for her. Your Angel can be whatever you need them to be I suppose, depending on the arrangements between the two of you.
For example, I stopped by the hospital in the morning before surgery for Joy just to wish her good luck. I brought her a couple small things for after surgery (lots of Caffeine free tea, some protein mixes, and a blender bottle for protein shakes). Then later I came by again to visit her and brought her some magazines just so she would have something to read (when she finally woke up enough to read). I just basically asked her if there was anything I could do- any calls I could make, etc. And I'll be checking in on her again today. So, that is our arrangement.
Now, another Angel arrangement could be strictly by telephone, or whatever. Like I said, it's really up to you and them. Hope this helps!
