I had my RNY at Scripps, but my surgeon is Dr. Zorn (same office as Dr. Tanaka). Great hospital and staff. I had a wonderful experience. Good luck on your weighloss journey. =)

I was at Scripps Mercy and had Dr Tanaka. Wonderful experience all the way around. Dr Tanaka has a different sense of humor, but we just clicked. He truly cares about you and how you do. He is an excelent surgeon and after wards I had minimal pain. I dont know if he still does but he use to use a OnQ pain pump that went right into the muscles and it helped immensly. The care at Mercy was good. You are in great hands!!!

Yup, he still uses the OnQ and that thing ROCKS!  I never hit the pain pump once!  I don't know why more docs don't use it!  Take care...Kim

Hi Teresa!  Yup, another Tanaka-ite here!  LOL  He's the best!  He's probably the most conservative of the 3 surgeons in that office, which was fine by me.  He'll keep you on the clear diet for a week longer than the majority of docs, but I think it's the safe thing to do, personally.  Scripps Mercy is a great hospital, no complaints there!  I didn't notice if you live in the area or not.  Try not to be nervous, you'll be in great hands there.  Dr T comes off very stern, but soon you'll see a sense of humor and no one will care about you more than him...he gave me a hug on my 6 mos visit.  Enjoy the ride, it's worth it!  xo Kim

Hi Teresa,

I am a Zornie.  Dr. Zorn was my doctor, but all three of them are great.  Scripps is an excellent hospital.  Trust me, you will be in good hands.  Having wls,  going through Pacific Bariatrics and having it done at Scripps were the best decisions I have ever made in my life.

I also went to Scripps.  Great experience.  I had Dr. Zorn, but they are all nice.  I saw Dr. T at my one month visit.  I loved PB.

Very excited for you.  I went through Scripps Mercy.  I had Dr. Zorn as my surgeon.  Scripps was absolutely fantastic.  They are kind and they how to care of bariatric patients.  They were also fabulous to my hubby who stayed with me.  You will have a wonderful experience.

Congratulations!!!
