Hi! lm a newbie
Hi, yall. my name is Ruthann, and lm a newbie at this. I had my lap-band surgery back on the 9th of June. l have gone from 238 to 215 lbs. wish more weight was gone, but at least lm losing. lm looking at losing 80-90 lbs.
l live in Fresno, does anyone here know of a lap-band support group?
l would really like to go to one. l do have a good support from my boyfriend, sons and friends, but would like to talk to someone who's been there.
Thanks for listening

We have the same date! I'm way north but I'm happy to talk to you about my experiences. 261 to 242. My goal weight is 155. I had a RNY and am not losing as fast as I'd like. I'm beefing up my walking again to 10,000 steps to increase my calorie burn off. I've been having a bit of trouble introducing new foods and keep rolling back to liquids every few days.

Jan,
my weight loss at the first part, right after the surgery. once l introduced soft foods the weight loss slowed down. l keep hearing that the key to this is walk, walk, walk.
l have been lucky that l haven't experienced the dumping syndrome yet.
can l put you down as a friend to contact?
Thank you

Most of the Fresno area people are RNYers. There are a few banders and more every month. Most support groups will focus on all types of surgeries......

Hi Ruthann and welcome to the Caliboards! I am down in the desert so I cannot help you with support groups. Darlene is a support leader so watch the boards for Steves post for support meetings. You are doing fine and you know with the banders the weight loss is slower. I think you are doing fantastic and keep up the great work!
