Hi there! Your post was great and you said everything that I was already thinking and wondering how to go about it. Myself as a patient just go through the motions because I assume "Well, they are the doctor and know what I need to do". BUt from what I have been reading and everyones experience it is good to do your own research and ask why this is needed. Thans for the advice..I too have Healthnet HMO. I'll check out that site and see what I need to do to speed up the process. Thanks to people like you who help the lost like me...haha. You are the bomb! Thanks!

You are correct about So.Cal....2 of our ladies on the VSG forum have been in L.A. and yep, they did the options classes. I don't get why they don't all do the same??? Iam in Sac, and they have the classes here too...Odd why the Bay area doesn't
Also ALL the info our So.Cal ladies always got was on the bypass, but during the surgeon consult they were given a CHOICE of which surgery they wanted...Now, thats odd...lol

I've had Kaiser in SoCal and Kaiser in NorCal and at the time they were organized into two different corporations/legal entities. So that could explain why they did things differently.
I have seen people come on here and say they went to their PCP and were on their 6 month diet and when it was over they'd be submitted to the surgeon and I was always confused, because that seemed backwards. Shouldn't your surgeon be in charge of your pre-op program? And if you are only doing the diet to get surgery, then why do the diet if you aren't referred for surgery?
I guess I should be glad I haven't got an HMO any more...
