yes, yes, yes--congratulations. I waited a long time for my date and it was a joy to finalize things. I will have RNY on Aug. 19th so now I am i the hurry up and wait stage. I too a blood clot when I got back from vacation in 2003 so they are doing extra things before surgery. When I go in for the pre-op I expect to get Lovelox (sp?) for the time before surgery. Way to go valley girl. We are all here for you. Helga

Good luck on your surgery! That is one day before I move back to Cali... I went to the Red Hat convention in Nashville last year I think it was... Maybe 2006... My mom's dearest friend who she met at work when I was 6 is a Red Hat Lady and was there so we went to Opryland Hotel to have dinner with her... Man they sure do it big! We got the chance to meet some really cool people while we were there.

Congrats on getting your date....don't worry to much about the filter. I had one put in before surgery and its wasn't to bad at all....they put mine in (IVC Filter) and went through my jugular vein rather than going through the groin., Check out my profile I believe I wrote all about it there. Feel free to PM me if you want., I also had it remove a couple of months after surgery - which was a little more difficult but still not to bad.

I too had a DVT back in 2002 - thus the need for the filter.

I was on Lovenox before the filter, before surgery and then before the filter removal....it wasn't fun and made my belly look like a war zone with all the bruises....
