How long is the decision time, usually?

I saw my Psych today and he said he'd give me the green light, and I also saw my Nut and she said she'd fax the papers over today for my insurance.

How long does it take usually for approval or denial?  I'm a little over a month away from my surgery date.

I mean, does it take days, weeks or ??    I"m clueless!!

I think it really varies from one insurance company to another.  Mine (Blue Cross Anthem PPO)  took about a week or so.

It does vary by insurance companies! Actually you are the first person I've seen that has a date before approval!!  lol  I'm sure it won't take long in that case, fingers crossed for you sweetie and prayers being sent!!!
Glad today went well!   bigg huggs, Becky

Congrats on having a date already!  Looks like you have all your ducks lined up, so hopefully the approval will happen soon.

Thanks Hon!

Yes, all the ducks but the big duck, lol

I still have the fear that the insurance will make me do the supervised diet, but we'll see.

I thought it was ass-backwards to set the date without even knowing if I'm approved, oh well!  Maybe they know something I don't, lol

In my case, the doctor's office said they had to give me a date in order to get the approval.  The insurance approved in less than a week.  It was surprisingly quick.  I have Blue Shield of California.  Good luck! -- Carol

That makes sense, I guess.  I just thought it was ass-backwards from the beginning, lol ;)

I think it varies depending on your insurance company.  I have Health Net HMO and I was approved in less than a week.  I called my health group daily to see if I was approved.  HA HA I am not a patient woman.
Best of Luck!

HAHAHA!!

I am NOT a patient woman either, but I'd be scared to call!!!

I have HealthNet PPO and I hope they are as fast!  :)

Do they call you or send a letter?

Thanks everyone!!!
