Hello everyone, thanks so much for all your well wishes.  I heard about hte email thing, but I got out of the hospital on Saturday evening about 6 so I am sure I won't get them.  But thanks so much if yous sent them.  It was interesting experience so far.  I arrived early and they had little gal take me to my room.  I walk into my room and the person in the bed next to me is having this huge mexican buffet with all my favorite foods.  There must have been a dozen people in that room with chips, salsa, taco's, beans ,rice.  If it was a mexican food it was there.  I turned to the head nurse who was with us and said "You can't be serious"  I was shocked that they would even think about putting me in that situation.  She said the woman is leaving today so just don't worry about it.  I shrugged it off and called my best friend, she was not happy to hear this.  About 5 min later 3 ladies come and say we are going to move you to a private room, this is just not right.  They told me someone screwed up and they apoligized profusly.!  From that moment on it was like a whirlwind.  Respitory therapist came in, nutritionist came in, physcial therapy came in, blood person,  You name it they were there.  I went down stair to pre-op and they were so nice down there.  My doctor stopped in and asked if I would allow a student from Germany to watch, I said fine.  Next thing you know they are wheeling me into this ice cold room and they put something over my face and that was it.  I woke up and i heard myself moaning, don't remember anyone but I said to someone I am hurting, next thing I am in my room and my husband is there holding my hand.  My surgery was at 1:30 and It was now about 5:30.  So 4 hours I do not know what happened.  I was sore, but not too bad.  Spent the evening walking the halls and then trying to get  some sleep which was impossible.  They wake you up like every 20 min to an hour.  Just as you fall asleep they wake you up!  Well Saturday I just tried to catch up on sleep from the night before and try to drink  the protein shake and the broth andjello.  I had better luck with the ice chips really.  I did not throw up thank god, but I had gas, but never painful.  My back went into spasm on thursday night nad hit it's peak Saturday morning.  My wounds I felt no pain.  Now that my back is better I have a little pain in the front where the incisions are but not too much.  So that was my experience really uneventuful to say the least.  I thing that is a good thing.  I know I made it through this because of all the prayers that were going up for me.  Ladies and gents I could feel them.  I felt all the hugs sent to me too!  Thank you for being there with me.  I can't thank my angel, THATKIMGIRL enough.  She was truely amazing the whole time.  Also all my other buddies out there with the last minute advice it really helpped me alot.  Thanks so much.  I am getting tired now so I think I will head back to bed.  Again thank you to all of you and God Bless,
Rhonda
