bowel movements

how long after surgery is it normal for patients to have bowel movements I started with dierriea four days after surgery and now one week and 3 days later I just have a dark liquid stool sorry if i'm being gross guys just curious.

You are not being gross.  I would call your doc.  It may be that you really dont't have much in your bowels or else that the antibiotics you got have wreaked havoc on your bowels.

When it comes to bowel movements, unfortunately I am anything but normal lol, so don't know. But everyone at PacBar is great so if you are concerned, call them sweetie!!
Nothing too gross here for us, we are all in this together, good and bad!!!
Congrats on your new life!!  Don't be afraid to ask questions here, the only stupid questions are the unaswered ones!!

I think it varies with people honestly...I got the screaming poops when I got home from the hospital and was that way for quite a few days...then it settled down. Don't worry...just try and get as much fluid in as possible!
