Good Sunday Morning Gang!
Your darden is awesome - I wish I had nmore room but I have no back yard just a tiny front patio.....I have recenty planted some flowers in small pots but thats about it. I have rose bushes that have been here for years (planted by my parents when they mnoved inhere in 1997 so I keep those up. Keep up the great work and That Sarah is an absolute DOLL.
OH JEAN
THANK YOU SO MUCH, I THINK SARAH IS A DOLL TOO, BUT I'M GRANDMA AND SHE'S JUST A HOOT. SHE KEEPS ME BUSY AND TEACHES ME NEW THINGS ALL THE TIME. THE OTHER DAY SHE TAUGHT ME HOW TO USE THE MICROWAVE..
I KID YOU NOT. I HAVE BEEN TAKING THE LONG WAY AROUND WHEN USING IT AND SHE SAID NO GRANDMA DO THIS.. I'LL BE DARN IT WORKED AND IT'S EASIER.SOME OF THESE DUMB MICROWAVES YOU HAVE TO PUSH SO MANY BUTTONS.. WELL I THOUGHT. LOL
SHE'S 2 1/2 OMG THESE KIDS ARE TOO SMART THESE DAYS.
THANKS FOR THE COMPLIMENTS ON MY ROSES ALSO, YOU KNOW YOU SHOULD GROW CLIMBING ROSES AND THAT WAY THEY GROW UP AND GIVE YOU MORE ROOM. I KNOW THE MINI CLIMBERS ARE FUN TO GROW AND YOU CAN GROW MORE IN A SMALLER AREA WITH CONTAINERS. PLUS THEY GROW BETTER IN THE POTS AS YOU CAN KEEP TRACK OF YOUR SOIL BETTER.
I'M SO BAD WHEN IT COMES TO ROSES. I JUST LOVE THEM. DON'T TELL HUBBY BUT I AM SEARCHING THE NET AS WE SPEAK FOR MORE.... I JUST FOUND A SITE WITH SOME BEAUTIES ON IT... LOL
TAKE CARE AND HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY AND AWESOME WEEK.
MUCH LOVE MY FRIEND,
OH mY GOsH, Sarah is soooooo cute- aren't they just the best!!! Your flowers are just stunning Jodi, do you know my faorite flower is Dalihas and Peony's- yours are unbelieveable- I had my first daliha come back from last year. I have a ? for you- the only plant I haven't had much experiance with is Roses- a couple of months ago we were at the local nursery and they had the 2008 winner- it was a long stemmed pink rose( which I love, and secondaly it's name is Tiffany which is my oldest's name) got it home and it has not done good since- by the end of the first day it was covered in aphids- so I used the dishsoap remedy and it still looks ugly, trimmed it back- any suggestions-= your roses look flawless????
Those pics made my day, I am so glad you got the flower bug.............Chris

GRAND KIDS ARE SOMETHING ELSE AREN'T THEY. THIS ONE KEEPS ME BUSY FOR SURE AND LOVES TO HELP BIG TIME WITH MY FLOWERS. I THINK SHE'S CUTE TO BUT I'M GRANDMA. LOL
THE TIFFANY ROSE IS AWESOME, IT MAY NOT BE AS DISEASE RESISTANT AS SAY A GARDEN ROSE BUSH OR A SHRUB ROSE BUSH. IN WHICH CASE IT COULD TAKE A LITTLE MORE CARE THEN SOME. WHEN I BUY ROSE BUSHES I TRY TO BUY DISEASE RESISTANT BUSHES SO I DON'T HAVE A LOT OF PROBLEMS WITH APHIDS AND POWDERY MILDEW AND SUCH. BUT YOU CAN HELP THAT.
MAKE SURE TO SPRAY THE APHIDS EARLY IN THE DAY SO THE LEAVES HAVE TIME TO DRY. YOU REALLY DON'T WANT THE LEAVES TO STAY WET AS THAT PRODUCES OTHER PROBLEMS. WATER THE SOIL NOT THE BUSH.
DID YOU PLANT THE ROSE INTO YOUR SOIL AT HOME OR INTO A CONTAINER? IF YOU PLANTED IT IN GROUND IT MAYBE YOUR SOIL AND YOU MIGHT WANT TO ADD SOME GOOD SOIL TO IT.
WHEN I PLANT A ROSE BUSH INTO THE GROUND I TAKE OUT ALMOST ALL THE SOIL THAT IS IN THE GROUND WHERE I PLAN TO PLANT IT AND REPLACE WITH GOOD POTTING SOIL, NOT POTTING MIX SOIL!.. ALSO YOU MAY WANT TO GIVE IT SOME VITAMIN B AS SOMETIMES THEY GO INTO SHOCK WHEN BEING TRANSPLANTED.
I'M SURE THAT YOU PLANTED IT SO IT WASN'T TO DEEP. YOU WANT TO MAKE SURE YOU DON'T COVER UP THE BUD UNION OF THE PLANT, A LOT OF ROSE GROWERS DIFFER IN HOW DEEP TO PLAT YOUR ROSES BUT I HAVE ALWAYS MADE SURE THAT THE BUD UNION IS ABOVE THE GROUND SO IT HAS PLENTY OF BREATHING ROOM.
I ALWAYS ADD BONE MEAL TO MINE ALSO TO HELP WITH THE BLOOMS. MAKE SURE YOU FEED YOUR ROSE TO HELP HER GROW STRONG.
WATER THE ROSE WELL FOR THE FIRST FEW WEEKS AS THE ROOTS DO NOT LIKE TO DRY OUT. AFTER ABOUT A MONTH YOU CAN GO TO WATERING IT ONCE OR TWICE A WEEK.
IT MAY JUST BE IN SHOCK AND WILL COME BACK.
SOME ROSES ARE SO PICKY. BASICLY MAKE SURE YOUR SOIL IS GOOD YOU ARE FEEDING IT WELL AND IF THE DISH SOAP METHOD DOESN'T WORK GET A 3 IN ONE SPRAY FOR THE APHIDS. YOU CAN EVEN BUY LADYBUGS TO HELP WITH THE APHIDS.
IF ALL ELSE FAILS CONTACT THE NURSERY WHERE YOU PURCHASED THE PLANT AND TELL THE ABOUT THE BUSH, THEY ALWAYS HAVE SUGGESTIONS FOR YOU. YOU CAN LOOK UP ON THE COMPUTER THE TIFFANY ROSE AND FIND OUT ALL OF IT'S LIKES AND DISLIKES AND IT'S QUIRKS, THEN IT SHOULD BE EASIER TO KEEP ON TOP OF ALL OF TIFFANY'S PROBLEMS.
SORRY FOR THE NOVEL.. LOL I JUST LOVE ROSES.
IF I WASN'T SUCH A SCARDY CAT I WOULD JOIN A LOCAL ROSE SOCIETY. THEY HAVE A LOT OF GOOD INFORMATION AND ALSO GO PLACES AND DO THINGS. LOL
YEA WELL THAT'S NOT GOING TO HAPPEN SO I CAN QUIT DREAMING ABOUT THAT. LOL
OK TIME TO GO OUT AND CHECK ON THE FLOWERS.. GET THEM WATERED AND ALL THAT GOOD STUFF BEFORE IT BECOMES WAY TO HUMID AND HOT.
OH HERE IS A PAGE ON HER, THEY SAY SHE IS EASY TO GROW ALSO.
THIS IS A REALLY PRETTY PICTURE OF HER. IS THIS YOURS? ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL.

THAT'S THE ONLY PROBLEM WITH GROWING MINI ROSES, YOU HAVE TO BE CLOSE UP FOR A PICTURE OF IN THE SAME AREA. THEY DON'T SHOW AS WELL AS A STANDARD SIZE ROSE BUSH. I DO LOVE THE WAY MY RAINDOWS END MINI LOOKS, I JUST WISH SHE CAME IN A STANDARD SIZE ROSE BUSH AND NOT JUST A CLIMBING ROSE OR MINI ROSE.
SORRY ABOUT THE RAMBLING AGAIN, LOL
HAVE A WONDERFUL WEEK AND ENJOY TIFFANY.

MUCH LOVE
I'm sitting here with my brand new internet connection thanks to my DH. He's just a great guy. Now things just move so much faster...
The zoo yesterday was awesome! They ran out of motorized scooters before we got there so my DH was championed with the task of pushing me around, but they have shuttles that take you to the top of hills, so we did okay. It was a beautiful day, and it wasn't very crowded at all. Highly recommend it to anyone in the SD area.
Today I'm resting, tomorrow is my last day off of my medical leave from my surgery before I head back to work. Kind of looking forward to it, kind of worried on how my pain management is going to be. I've had more pain than normal, and I believe it's because of my weight... can't wait til the end of the year until I can have my surgery. I just finished week 15 of Options.. only 9 to go!
Anyway, have a great day Cali!
PK
I hope you all have a great what is left of the weekend!
Enjoy!!! Jeni

OMGosh, I LOVE Canter's Deli!!! I haven't been there in years, but I had a great friend that lived in N. Hollywood and we always went there when we visited. That and Ed DeBevic's were my favorite places to go. I saw Morgan Fairchild at Canter's once and someone else too, but can't remember who. They have the best food!! YUMMO, now I want to go!!! lol
Glad you had fun and lived to tell about it sweetie!!
