Happy Saturday!

Ok, I am so looking forward to moving. Very anxious actually. My mom was saying last night that she did not think I could make it through the pre op diet. I don't exactly remember what they had advised me because I did my nutrion consult over the phone a year and a half ago. I know I am not there yet. I was very disappointed that she would try to sabotage my good vibrations. Can someone let me know ways that they prepared while waiting for surgery? What is the hardest part of the pre op time?

The pre-op diet was very difficult for me. I made it; you will to. Just take it one meal/shake at a time. Good luck!

Happy Saturday to you,

My doctor put me on a two week liquid diet.  I thought I was never going to get through it my first week, but then it got easier.  You can do it… Sorry your mom is trying to sabotage you.
Here are some good vibes coming your way!!!!

Good luck!!

Happy Saturday to you too!

I think and I know you can make it through your pre-surgery diet. Once you put your mind to it, you can do anything.

I was required to do a 10 day liquids only diet prior to surgery. I did good with it. I made lunches for the kids, cooked dinner every night. For me, I was so excited that it so nothing mattered.

As for naysayers like your mom, I know it's hard but do your best to ignore negative words, thoughts and people. I'm sorry your mom said what she did, but bru**** aside and go on. Something like that would of made me MORE determined to do awesome.

You CAN do it!

Lauren

I made a meal plan, and after 3 days I was used to it.  It was hard, but you can do it.  I allowed myself to have the "no no" foods on the weekends in moderation, and was able to lose 43 lbs before surgery.  You have to focus and don't let anyone get in your way of saving your life.

Good luck,

Parents...ya can't live with them, ya can't shoot 'em.

My dad said, seeing me drink my Isopure pre-op, "Geez, why don't you just drink that stuff until you are at goal weight? Certianly seems less drastic that way." And I am 50 years old!

I think parents are provided as God's ready-made devil's advocates. Mom is just worried about you and believe it or not, genuinely concerned.

You WILL make it through your preop diet because you WILL have the surgery. What better incentive, eh?

You may need another nut consult before surgery, or at least ask them to send you some paperwork to review.

Get "Weight Loss Surgery for Dummies"...a GREAT resource, all around.

Thanks everyone! Good advice. I think with her she is just feeling we are leaving her behind. She said yesterday she is going to be the only fat one. That has always been my place really because me being so big even though they were big with me being way up there it kinda made me the focus. Hard to explain. I know when the time comes I will make it just wish people realized how much I have made it through and gave me some credit. I am the only one in my family with a degree on my mom's side and still working on grad school so... I know she is worried. Thanks again!
