Hi,
I was wondering if anyone who had WLS through HDMG by Dr. Quilici at Cedars could answer my questions:
1. Once I get approved by Dr. Dulgeroff here in Lancaster, does Dr. Quilici require additional weight loss or am I pretty much good to go?
2.  I've been reading lots of stuff here on Obesity Help where people tell a person with a problem to contact their doctor immediately. In that case, would we be contacting Dr. Quilici or Dr. Dulgeroff or my PCP? What did they tell you to do?
Thanks to anyone who can shed some light!!

I do not know about wt loss.  But you would contact your surgeon.

Quilici did my cousina dn his wife, he didn't require any weight loss pre-op just don't gain any. I would call my surgeon if I had a problem early out. You're PCP can do your bloodwork once you're further out

I had my surgery 2 years ago, at Cedars, with Dr. Q and through HDMG in Lancaster. I had to go through 6 months of weight management before Dr Dulgeroff would make the referral. Dr Q did not require additional weight loss but he does expect you not to gain. Actually, you will lose more prior to surgery because of the liquid diet he puts you one two weeks before surgery.

For surgery related issues you would talk to Dr Q's office.. BUT you would have to go through your PCP for a referral, other than pre scheduled post op appointments.
