So I am now on 1 Plavix and 1 Aspirin per day.  Both can irratate the pouch and small intestines.  So my questions to all of you is...should I take one in the morning and one in the evening for easier digestion.  Any tricks to coat the pouch?  Would adding coffee be a no no with two items that are already hard to digest?  Those with solid ideas and thoughts please respond.  Brian  PS I know if I take coated aspirin it will help.

I have to take large doses of Ibprofin......I take mine as I eat my daily bowl of oatmeal in the morning, that way I know there is something in my stomach.

You have enough acid in your pouch to do the coated pills?

I, too, have to take 1 x 75 mg Plavix and 1 x 81mg ASA daily due to a previous heart attack and the placement of two stents.  I pop them dowwn with the rest of the seven meds the VA has me on -- every morning.  What I do is take a 150 mg Zantac along with the rest, pop 'em in my mouth and down them with a swig of water.  If acid indigestion continues, I search for one of my remaining 30 mg Prevacid and let it dissolve on my tongue.  Drink plenty of water incrementally and wait until you have to eat for a while.

Good luck!

My doc has me on a RX of antacid because I take Celebrax. I have had no problems. I would ask your doc for a RX just in case!
