This 4 U LizR Head in the Clouds!

Liz as soon as this is dry enough to ship...it is yours.....for those who are wondering....Miss Liz asked me to paint her something to do with bicycling....I got this feeling of whoosh I was reading and this is what I did for her:it was painted mostely with a pallet knife to create great texture of the desert where Liz does most of her biking. The reason it is called "Head in the Clouds" is because I know Liz gets that euphoric feeling when she is out there communing with nature on her bike....okay maybe her ass doesn't, but what it does for her mind is euphoric!

I know she was almost timid in asking me to do something for her and wanted to know how much I would charge....but you LIZ....LIZ...Liz Liz...do so much for others and give so much from your heart....I wanted to do something for you!!!

Nice!!!  Acrylics??  Do you add anything to the paint to create the texture?  I've seen the additives for paint at the art supply store but have yet to try them...I don't know how to paint with texture.

Yep baby girl...it is acrylics and yes I did use some molding paste and one that has linen in it. There are a variety of compounds you can use. Depending on which one I use, I either mix a base paint with it or there is one that is black lava...OMG it comes out in a gray gel with the lava in it. I used that on the mountain in the dia de los muertos painting I just did...I applied it right over the paint to create ridges in the mountains. You do not have to go with only what you can get in the store...experiement with papers and other stuff you might have around the house. I save everything because I know eventually I can use it in a painting or something. The next piece I am thinking about doing is using doll parts to create a real 3-d effect....we will see...it is in the making in my mind...soon it will come to life!

I've been thinking about a project with the illustrations of women who model in the dress pattern books....you know, the older ones from the 60s and 70s?  It's still rattling around up in my head though, nothing has materialized yet.
