Good Tuesday Morning Cali
Hi, Cali crew!
We started the kitchen remodel yesterday. I worked my tail off trying to finish packing everything with a couple of the guys' help. The other four had Jerry (my DH) working in the garage. Jerry was home from work sick with a cold, and ended up working off his fanny, too. The contractor is an old friend of Jerry's, and looks to him as a wise elder brother/surrogate father-figure. He decided that they should get some of the incredibly full, disorganized, chaotic garage set up so that they could stage stuff through there. So he "helped" Jerry organize under pressure. They drywalled the last wall in the garage, moved ****loads into either storage or the junkpile, moved cabinets and shelving units around, and then built a quick & dirty shelving unit and a shelf area for the rafters while Jerry wasn't looking! (All spur of the moment and not really part of the job at all, but Michael wanted to help Jerry out. They demo'ed part of the kitchen, and started hooking up the laundry sink so that I'll have a place to do dishes when the demo is completed. All in one day. We were both exhausted! I don't think I could have faired well before surgery, that's for sure!
They're back today, extending the wall and narrowing the opening from the living room to the dining room. Then they'll move our refrigerator over by the new wall, so we won't have to move it to the garage for the duration, and will even put in an external water "kit" so that the filtered water will still be available through the door. There are some really good things about having a contractor who is determined to make it as easy as possible for you!
Meanwhile, the dog is banished to the backyard, and all six cats are banished to the master bedroom. Fun and games!
I'm going quilting today with my small quilt group. I've caught DH's cold, but I've got to get out of here for awhile! -- Carol

TGITuesday...it's the START of my work week and I welcome it, as I have been partying ALL weekend long and am ready for work, lol...not really since I'm on here posting!! Well it seems like every 4 weeks my gallbladder wants to annoy me and before I thought it...yup today it's been bothering me so I'm taking it nice and slow.
I cooked and brought my breakfasts, snacks and lunches in for the whole WEEK. I haven't done that in a couple months so I'm looking forward to being back on track =)
Have a great week yall.

Morning California!
Today I actually got up at 9:25! I've got to start working on getting up earlier because in four weeks school starts and one of my classes is at 8:20am on Tuesdays and Thursday.....UGH....what was I thinking??
Janine............Harley looked up a picture of your motorcycle for me last night. That's one big bike!
I'm happy to say my son took care of all his court stuff this morning........................
OH CHIT, WE JUST HAD AN EARTHQUAKE!! Fun times in California. Harley, Justin and I jumped up and all went straight for our door jams.
anyhoo, my son took care of all his stuff without mommy today. I made my appointment with the personal trainer yesterday and that was great.
So far today, I've been going through my to do list, so I feel like I'm getting things accomplished today. So, I'm off to finish that list.
Hope everyone has a wonderful, earthquake free day!

I hear all you So. Cal'ers are Rock'in and Roll'in! Wow! We've had a few up here in the past and it's quite unnerving.
Spent the day pushing paper around, got caught not following "procedure" (only took 'em 11 months). The only reason they "caught" me was because I had the best stats in job completion in the entire system. I got my jobs completed with 100% accuracy. That caught someone's attention and they finally realized I was completing the whole thing myself instead of following the new "procedures" and sending my paperwork to our Resource Management Centers to be completed. Now I have to stop what I'm doing and start sending the packets down. Go figure - I have 100% accuracy and the RMC's have a 72% accuracy. Tell me please how this makes ANY sense at all? I give up.
Tonight I am home with the Pup-A-Razzi. I'm sorting through old Levi's and going to start some curtains. I cut them off at crotch level. slit them up the sides and patchwork the bottoms. I'm using some camo denim and lining it with flannel plaid. The belt loops hook onto the curtain rod. They're cool.
Vandal**** our neighborhood last night 27 cars had windshields or back windows busted out with bricks. The damn vandals drove by and threw bricks. Lucky we didn't get hit. Only those people who left cars parked on the street. We've been egged, paint-balled, broke into (my ipod got ripped off in January) and now bricked. And this is a good neighborhood. Pffffht.
Ok, I'm going to go rummage in the fridge. I feel an egg omlet calling my name.
