Update II: Julia
The latest update from Lori C. on Julia's condition, she is in great spirits and handling the whole situation with a great attitude and a remarkable sense of humor.....they even named her little blood clot friend:
"I talked with Julia this morning... spent about 4 hours sitting w/her yesterday at the hospital...she is in Linda's old CCU room.
"Clottia" (the blood clot) is hopefully working her way into oblivion. Julia is hoping that the cardiologist makes it in to see her today, and maybe, just maybe, will let her get out of that bed today. She wants to walk a bit. She's still hoping to get to go home tomorrow. She'll be on blood thinners for three months, I believe is what she told me.
As far as the bypass goes, she is doing great. I peeked at the incision sites...they are pretty bruised, but looking good...no infections or anything.
Thought you all would enjoy an update!! Keep her in your prayers..."
Instant update!::
"So, cardiologist was JUST in... she said looking really good for going home tomorrow, as long as the INR (?) numbers look good (showing that the blood thinners have kicked in properly).
Best news: they allowed her to get out of bed!! So, she's sitting in her chair...and able to walk...and ....drumroll...ABLE TO USE THE POTTY!! Like a big girl!! YAY....
Her lung capacity is dimished due to Clottia.... breathing difficult...should come back as she does her breathing treatments and walks more, though...."

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Thank you Monica
I have been so worried about her. I wish I could have made it back to the hospital to visit. I am just not quite up to it yet. The room she is in is aweful as far as her being able to get any decent rest. but at least she has a TV.
I will continue to hold her in my prayers and I know she has an amazing attitude and will do well. I know she will feel so much better when she goes home. Hopefully that will happen tomorrow.
I just feel so bad that she had to go thru this. She is such a sweetheart.
Look forward to any updates you may have. I cant beleive I didn't get julias cell phone number when I was in the hospital.
Monica, I will send you a PM with my phone number if you could give it to Julia and tell her she may call me if she wants to talk.
Thanks
Linda

I am feeling MUCH better now that I can get out of bed. If things continue to go well, I should get to go home tomorrow. Crystal (my daughter) brought me my laptop last night, so I can get online, but I am not sure I have the attention span to reply individually to all the prayers and well wishes. So I am taking this opportunity to to say
THANK YOU, CALI!

Hey Linda - I have a few articles of clothing for you as well - in my car - that I confiscated yesterday from Janeen.
And Julia - I am so glad to see you posting. Just mind the Drs orders and don't pu**** - you have to make sure the coumadin is at a therapeutic level and stable before you go home......any questions about INR - let me know....I get mine checked once a month because I am on coumadin and have been since I had the massive bilateral pulmonary embolism in July of 2002...
hang in there girl - you will be home soon.
Monica - thanks for posting.....I have been gone all morning and just got in here to read the posts.
