........I am lactose intolerant!  OMG, I miss cheese, and now I have to buy a different protein drink.
Any of you have this problem?

Sorry Annabelle, I was one of the lucky ones that didn't become lactose intolerant. Try Lactade fat free milk or soy milk.

Oh nooooo!!!!!

I am not lactose intolerant but I eat a lot of soy products anyway, some of the soy and rice cheeses arent too bad, you just have to keep trying them until you find the one you like and keep in mind not to expect them to taste like regular milk cheese!

I also think that if you look around you might be able to find some "lactose free" cheeses...I THINK?

Yes, I heard about soy cheese and other soy products that I can try at Trader Joes.  I hope I like something, because I do not like the taste of soy.

I think it is fairly common for a WLSer to become lactose intolerant.
I'm thinking I know someone that is, but still eats cheese. She drinks only soy milk, never regular milk, but eats lots of cheese. I can check on that for you!
I have never handled milk real well anyway so I drink Lactaid or Calorie Countdown, which I tolerate better and I eat cheese.
Good luck with this and at least you know how to stop the pain!!

I was woundering about Lactaid.  I am going to buy some and try it.  I do like Rice Dream, but I am going to have to read the label, because of carb and sugar.  I know I don't like soy milk.

Hi!  yes, I became lactose intolerant after surgery...found that out about a week post op when I dumped on 1% milk with my protein shake.

Anyway, I now drink Silk Soy.  Funny enough, I can still eat cheese, yogurt and even SF fudgecycles....but not milk.

Good Luck to ya.

You, know I just can't drink milk, or eat a lot of cheese, and I can eat SF fudge cycles. I am afraid to try yogurt, because the pain in my tummy was so horrible.

Thanks,
Annabelle
