Thanks so much for your response, Shannon.  It feels so good to be understood.  I wish you all the best on your journey ahead -- I hope you get your surgery soon.  Take care.

Be safe and well, B.B.

I go to Kaiser Richmond. I never was told how many weeks the process would take. I have attended three meetings so far. Psych, nutrition, and one more orientation. I have my "meet the surgeon" on Aug1. I"ve lost about 20 pounds. YES the process takes forever. I am guessing my surgery will be this fall. My initial visit was in April.
I also live in Vacaville and the drive is long and far. I am a teacher and once school starts my drive will be even further. I teach in Woodland.

Hi Marcia,

I know it's been long, but I'm happy for you that you only have a few more weeks to wait to meet your surgeon.  I wish I was in your shoes.  It's great that you didn't have to wait 36 weeks. I went to orientation back in mid June and that's when they told us about the wait time (they also said it would take 20 weeks to be scheduled for a psych eval and nutrition class(es)).  I'm so ready for this next page in my life and I know you are too.  I wish you all the best on your journey.  Hope your surgery comes sooner than expected.

Be safe and well, B.B.

Hi there,
I am at Kaiser Richmond and things moved rather fast for me... I am the one who held the process up... After the orientation and once they told me how much weight I had to lose, it was pretty much a fast process... I was able to meet with Dr. Baggs rather quickly.  I was told I had to lose 33 lbs, and that was 2 years ago... I was self defeated by the weight loss.  But now I am re-activated and come in to Kaiser for weight checks every month.  I am confident that I will have my surgery by the new year.  I dont really understand why the wait is 36 weeks (like 9months)  at SSF and it seems that Richmond moves a bit faster.  I will add you as a friend and hopefully we can encourage each other on  this journey.
