liquid diet question

Ive seen on this board that most people do two weeks on a liquid diet before their surgery, well my doc has me on only a two day liquid diet before my surgery...is this normal?

I was only on liquids for 1 day before surgery then nothy by mouth from midnight until surgery.

Normal is what your doctor does?

My Dr. had me do just two days as well and all went fine.

oh good b/c I was getting worried. Not that I wanted to drink my food for two weeks before surgery...I dont know how Im going to handle just doing two.

Hello, I have a 15 daughter with PTC. She has not needed a spinal tap for almost a year. She is doing good. How is your PTC? I was wondering if PTC was one of the reasons that you are going to have weight loss surgery? Sorry to ask so many ? but I have not found to much info on PTC. I just had the RNY done on July 9th 2008 Thanks for your time. Cathy

***jumps up and down*** oh Im so happy to find someone else with ptc/IH (not happy your daughter has it ) b/c its like finding a needle in a hay stack sometimes. Yes one of the reasons Im having RNY is Im hoping it will calm some of my IH/ptc symptoms . UC Davis had me on a two day liquid diet.  I am so glad that I didn't have to do 2 weeks!  I was very grouchy on the first day, so I just took a nap so that I wouldn't be so mean to everyone in the family.

Hi, I'm doing a 2 week optifast diet. I started today and I can drink 5 shakes a day. My Dr. suggested  and I thought it would be good to get a head start on the weight loss and to have the added effects of a smaller liver. I had my first shake about 10 minutes ago and it was actually pretty good.
