have you eaten this?

Foods my daughter (bypass 6/6) painfully misses and we are wondering if she will someday
be able to tolerate in small amounts:

suchi (white rice, hates brown)
fresh spring rolls (wrappers made of rice I think)
mu-shu (wrappers of egg/flour?)
tamales (corn masa)

Anyone with experience we can learn from?

I am almost 2 yrs from the surgery, but after about 1 year, I started experimenting again with sushi and rice and spring rolls (which I LOVED before the surgery).  I can eat almost anything now, but tell her to wait about 6 months before trying anything like sushi and rice because it is a little harder to digest.  I have friends that also had the surgery more than 3 yrs ago that still can't handle rice.  However, I can just fine.

Also, the foods above are really healthy and she will appreciate them more as she gets into a phase where she can digest them.  But, rest assured, at some point she'll be able to eat almost anything in moderation.

She should be able to tolerate all of the above food. However, my humble opinion is why get back in the habit of eating unnecessary carbs, but everything in moderation after your daughters honeymoon period is over. If she gets in the habit of ingesting these foods too early on...it will impede her weight loss over all.

I wish Fern continued success! Bounce

You are so right.  Good reminders too.  Many, many thanks.
