Runner's knee

Does anyone have any personal tried and true methods that work to help with runner's knee?  When I get to about my first mile and a half, my knee starts to lock up a bit.  If I slow it down or pause to stretch, that helps but not always.  I am a new runner - only been running for about 8 months and LOVE it, so I don't want to stop running.  I do wear a knee brace, but sometimes it makes my knee even stiffer.  Would appreciate any advice...

You should have your doc take a look at.

Plus, do you run in good shoes, that where fitted to you by a pro? Go to a RUNNING store and have them help you find a shoe that fits the way your foot hits the ground. That might help. But first, have a doctor take look and make sure that is not something wrong. Don't keep running on it and maybe doing my damage to it.

Just my 2 cents
