Two weeks from today.....and getting nervous

I know this is what I want to do, and have no second thoughts about it.  Yesterday I had all my pre op stuff done (Upper GI/Labs etc) and as I was sitting there talking to Dr. Chin,  my heart skipped a beat and it hit me. "your really going thru with this"  I feel like I have prepared myself as much as possible. I have read everything that I could find on RNY, asked lots of questions, I have been lurking all over this website,  but now I feel nervous.  I have butterflies in my stomach every time I think about the upcoming surgery.   I am sure everyone has experienced this too, any helpful advise on how to cope with the pre surgery anxiety? Linda,  I have no advice as I am in the same boat, but a little under a week ahead of you!  I am not anxious I am so excited and getting very impatient.  I have all my pre-op test on Friday and I start my liquid diet tomorrow!  I am so excited and want to shout it on the roof top, problem is very few people know I am having it done.   Hang in there and breath.  Lola

All I can tell you is you are doing the best thing for your life.  You're giving yourself a gift.  Just sit back and enjoy the ride.  It's normal to be nervous, but this is a wonderful journey.  Congrats to you!

Hi, Linda... do you know what time your surgery is? I'll be there around 7am to say "nighty night" to Julia before they wheel her away... will stick around to look for YOU too...

You know, I think we all have all kinds of qualms from time to time...I had NONE until I got back home and thought, "holy crap, I really DID this...and it's permanent!"... but... it's been a fast and great three years... tomorrow I go see Doc Chin for my 3 year followup... you saw him yesterday, Julia today and me tomorrow! see what a great month you are having your surgery in?

xoxo

I have surgery on Monday, and I am very nervous also.  Lots of butterflies and hugging my boys tight.  Normally I would eat my way to calm and the Optifast sure is not soothing.  I've been looking at the before and after pictures on here for the last hour trying to keep my mind on the goal and not the actual surgery. My husband just invited me to a round of guitar hero though, so maybe that will distract me for a while!

Perhaps it hasn't hit me yet, Linda, but I'm not nervous at all--excited, yes, with eager anticipation to boot!  Because I have sleep apnea, I may have to be in ICU the first night, so I might not see you until the next day, but know that I'm thinking about you!
