Pain, pain, go away! Come again; NEVER!  No date yet, officially, but UHC says there is an authorization # and surgery date IN THE SYSTEM. I AM APPROVED!!! (Can't do the date they have, so I have to wait for that, darn it!). So, I guess I will have a lot more questions very soon now! The shopping Q's, I already know the 'what to bring' answers. Nothing! ; ) HA. Cell phone, toothbrush, comfy clothes, and insurance!! OH, and hand lotion. Did I miss anything?  I don't know how long I have to get ready; if there's a pre-op diet; etc. I just ordered my book last weekend for heaven's sake.  Thanks to all for your encouragement. You got me thru the weekend. 

YAYAY Janet!!!  I am so happy for you!!! You have been supportive of me---I am so happy this is closer for you!! I saw Higa last week---and ALL of my test ppwk was not in my file!!  "Maybe the nurse Practitioner has it" But she's not here until Tuesday!! I called Vierra's office and his assistant wa on Vaca---so I plead my case and another gal faxed everything ( again) to HIga---- Just a little ppwk limbo!!  Then approval-----and wait for a date!  ( you know--with my work situation) Anyway--- I hope to be right behind you on this--- and WHAT BOOK did you order??? So you got approval, or that's next? Some go so fast, others, I don't know.  I've had my frustrations with stuff being done in a timely manner. It's like, nobody gets how much stress we are under with the not knowing, with the phone calls, the paper trails that always seem to disappear on a vacationers desk. I was trying to get my old PCP to fax some info for my 5yr weight history. I was told it would be about a week before they could get it out. Then, they never sent it! I just told ALSA to fax what they had from my current PCP and we'll let things happen from there. I still don't even know what they needed, and now, I don't care. Well, I guess I do, since I have heard they can discover new info and cancel you on your way into surgery. Happened to my sister-in-law. On her way to the hospital!   Well, anyway, I wish you continued luck.  Let me know!

NO-- I didn't get approval-----yet....... Higa's office has all the ppwk ( twice!!) and hopefully will fax to insurance asap---- I will call them next week to check if that was done...BC suppposedly takes a week to approval------ after that ---it's "setting the date"-which as you know---I have to wait anyway--due to work!   But-moving right along---very happy for YOU!!

Congratulations! They say chapstick is essential for the hospital stay.

Definitely chapstick....it was an essential for sure. Bring a couple.... I think I lost one because I was so loopy from the drugs!!
