Hi Julia, Thank you, that was EXACTLY what I was looking for. Now I'm honestly scared.  I wasn't expecting that.  I knew that this wasn't going to be easy but that article scared me! I think I'll order that book tonight too. Thank you again Julia :)

You should have had a consult with the dietician already. They gave me the diet from pre-op tp 1 year out at that consult. If not call the PACE center and talk to the dietician. they have a different plan for each procedure, so mine would be different than yours. Call Michelle  323-442-8671 on Monday, she'll get you what you need, shes another good one over there and runs the support group as well.

Hello! I thought it would have been sooner as well, but they wanted it closer to the surgery date... so I have an appointment on the 25th to see the dietician.  I'm sure I'll get all that info then.  I'm just trying to do my homework so I'm not lost afterwards, although I'm sure I will be!  It sounds darned confusing to me. PS: And the person I'm supposed to talk to about all this stuff hasn't returned my 2 calls yet... :(

Congratulations!  Woo hoooooo! My surgeon sent me a huge packet of information with everything.  One paper was pre-op one was post-op, 100 or so total pages.  Call your doctor and ask for their kit telling them you want to be well prepared. :) Let us know how your journey goes. :-) ---jan---
