I had my Bariatric orientation meeting today in Fremont with Kaiser. It was quite a drive from Modesto, but will be worth it in the end. Surgeon says that surgery from this point is about 4-6 months out. I have to attend a few more appointment and lose 10%. Has anyone else had any experiences with Kaiser Fremont?

Yes, there are quite a few Kaiser Fremont people on this board.....WELCOME!!!

I am a little over 2 years out and my oldest daughter (also a Kaiser Fremont patient) had surgery in January of this year.

Losing the 10% is probably the hardest part of the process.....unless you count the "waiting for a surgery date" part.

Best of everything to you......

I see you're in Ceres....watch for get togethers in our area and come join us.

I see Dr. Dutta did your surgery. I met his at the orientation. He seems like a really good doctor. How did you like him?

Hi~ I attended the 12:30 orientation at Kaiser Fremont last Sunday as well.  Sorry you had such a long drive.  Mine was about an hour...I went by myself, and the drive home was great because I had time to really think hard about this big life change I am committing to and embarking on.  My challenge now is to find a support group.  I called on Monday and booked an appointment for the surgical consultation on 7/25.  I am hoping to connect with others who are on this journey.  Thanks~Elli

I also have a consultation on the 25th at 3:30 with Dr. Hahn. Who is yours with? I have found a support group in Modesto at Memorial Hospital I plan on attending the first Monday of every month. I am excited about this journey and hope everything moves along smoothly. It is very nice to meet other people embarking on this wild ride.

So are there support meetings in Fremont and do you have to be a Kaiser patient to go to them?
