Biggest WOW moment I could ever have.....
Wow, that is great Connie. Did you always have an idea that you would like to do that or did it evolve after WLS. Keep it going. We need people like you out there who understand the obese person. I may fit a nitch that us MO need.
'Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid insideways ... half a bottle of vodka in one hand ... a fat cigar in the other... a body thoroughly used up and totally worn out ... and screaming;'whooooohooooo what a ride'!' Thanks so much,
No. It was not something I would have ever thought of before. It was something that has become a desire within since my WLS and losing nearly 200lbs. I love being healthy and having energy the way I do now. I love living a healthy lifestyle and I know I can bring good things to people who are ready to get to the place where I am....Healthy and fit. I have always loved helping people. This for me is the best way I can imagine.........sharing experiences and sucesses. I could not ask for a more perfect profession for the person I am.
Take care!

Wow girls, thanks for all the kudos!
Janine, you crack me up!!!!
I literally laughed out loud sitting here my desk. My hair IS growing back thanks to the Biotin! And in the meantime, I am learning how to deal with it thanks to some EXPENSIVE products. Thank goodness I have connections to CosmoProf !! Yes, the teacher flirts with me, but I make sure to pay no attention because I know my GIRLFRIEND would not appreciate that much at all. LOL.
I would love to tell you all about my work out regime, however it is all based around personal metabolic equations and KNOW that it is likely NOT APPROPRIATE for most. These equations are based around body fat percent along with lean mass percentages and resting metabolic rates, Negative caloric deficits, blah blah blah.
Anyway, I do 60 minutes of cardio, but it MUST be cardio that keeps my heart rate in the training zone. For me that is 160-180 beats per minute. Running 4 miles on a incline of 4 on the treadmill at 5.2mph does that for me. Trust me, it's HARD to do....
I change up my cardio a bit during the week though, in order to not become activity resistant (it keeps your body guessing and prevents conditioning of the same muscle group every day which eventually becomes ineffective). I do step aerobics tuesdays, and kickboxing (love it but it kicks my ASS!) on thursdays. So, run mon, step tues, run wed, kickboxing thu, and fridays I try to do a recreational cardio activity like tennis or something.
In addition to the 1 hour of cardio 5 days a week, I am also doing an hour of strength training. Mon and Wed I train legs and abs, choosing 7 exercises per muscle group. Sound easy......its not!!!
Then Tues and Thurs I train biceps, triceps, back, chest, adn shoulders, choosing 3 exercises per muscle group. Fridays I work on flexibility and balance by doing an hour of yoga. This regimen of strength training is very challenging and difficult. I have significantly upped my protein intake for the best results.
Please understand this regimen is way too extreme for most individuals. If you would like help with coming up with a workout routine I would be happy to help you with that, just remember I am not yet certified.
Today was the start of week 2!! I started off strong and I have tunnel vision for the day!
Take care all!
Hugs to you!!
