Info on Kaiser Permanente wanted

Anyone know is Kaiser has seen the light re: DS ?  I'm about to start the process in getting my sister DS surgery.  Thanks!@

While the surgeons in Kaiser Harbor City do the DS I believe you have to be really super morbidly obese in order to get it.  I remember a lady on the VSG forum who was denied her DS, appealed and was still kinda denied because they would do the DS in two parts.  First giving her the VSG. I believe that's how it went...you might want to post on the VSG forum I think she still posts. Not sure what your sister weighs, but from my consult 7 months ago my doctor said he only does the DS for those weighing over 400lbs.  Good luck. MS Shell

I am Kaiser northern Ca. There are only two centers here. Everyone has to travel. I am going to Richmond. I didn't have nay trouble qualifying after a referral from my pcp. I have had both knees replaced and have sleep apnea along with other health concerns but by far I am in the 240 range. I don't know how southern Ca is but... I am still on my journey. I have gone to two "orientations" , a pysch visit and I have a date to meet my surgeon on Aug 1. I was told to loose my 10% and I am working on it... Marcia/Vacaville (near Sacto)>

I'm in Sacramento, so we're pretty close.  My friend  is a Kaiser Patient and is starting down this same road.   I just talked to her this morning and she had her visit in Richmand too.  She's lost her 10 %, however her DRwants her to lose another 30%.   She's very disappointed.........I keep telling her to log on too this site...........maybe she will now. I  had the WLS last Sept, and have been doing great........I also hae a pre-surgery diet given to me by my NUT., if you would like a copy e-amil me privately and I'll sent it to you. Hi, You should post this on the DS forum, if you haven't done it already.  You'll get a lot of sage advice from some of the vets over there.  Hope this helps.  It's awesome that you're helping your sister.
