every surgeon is differnt and so are their guidelines, just make sure you're doing what he suggests.  I would recommend creating an account on www.fitday.com to count your grams of protein and carbs, I find it really helpful especially when I'm sitting at my desk during the day.

Hi Shardon, Congratulations on your weight loss so far! Excellent job. I know exactly what you mean about needing variety. I would HIGHLY recommend that you check out from your local library or purchase Susan Maria's book "Before & After: Eating Well After Weight Loss Surgery". There are some excellent recipes in it and it is great if you are cooking for your family. I made her "Buffalo Simmered Chicken with homemade blue cheese dressing" the other night and let me tell you- YUMMY in my tummy!

Thanks.  I'm one of those that do not like to cook.  I live alone and to cook seems like such a waste of food now that I have had my surgery.  But, I have to be creative and cook and freeze. Again thats for the comment.

Hi Shardon, Good grief, 100 miles each day to work.....you don't need to exercise, you have got to be worn out.  While the exercise thing would probably get me over my stalls, my up 3 and down 4, I have yet to do anything regularly.  Let me tell you, after being on my butt for 5 years with bad knees, and now just doing the housework as much as I do, it's enough for me.  Don't be feeling bad, I managed to lose plenty of weight without killing myself at a gym, or even walking.  Stop beating yourself up.  Maybe on the weekends you can take a small walk, get an exercise bike that you can sit on, like that is what you want to do after driving all day, and watch some TV doign that, but you are doing great.  Exercise will come with more time......so just get more variety in your eating, and you are going to do just fine.  Everyone laughed when I lost 34 lbs and thought I was done, HA 170 lbs later without exercise, I am the one laughing now, with utter disbelief that I have really lost that much weight. Take good care of yourself and in due time, things will all workout.....Hugs, DIane

Hey Diane, How's the job?  Yes, I am communting to Cypress every day from Riverside.  I need the $.  How is your job coming along?   Good to hear that you can still lose and not work your A** off.  I am too tired when I get home to have to deal with exercising.  Am I eating too many carbs?  That seems to be my focus and what I choose when I eat.  Everyone is saying to try Egg Face's meals.  I have to look into that. Hope to finally meet you one day.   Love,  Shardon

Also try a lean piece of meat, small bites, very small, also chicken, the darker meat is more moist.   Don't forget those sugar free popcicles, fish is also good, any kind beside tuna, just make sure things are moist enough to eat, and take small bites.  I went to the store the other day in search of some other kinds of drinks and found 2 or 3 different ones with no nothing in them, no carb, calories, sugars nothing, get used to reading label.  As my doctor said, eat high protein low carb and eat what you want, with out pouches, you can't get much in anyway, Just another 2 cents of mine. Hi Diane!   I just have to put this out there.  I love ya and I don't want you tio think I am being critical of you.  Let's call it constructive advice, o.k.? There will come a time, when you honeymoon phase is over, that if you haven't incorporated exercise into your new lifestyle, you will struggle every damn day  with weight regain.  You ask ANY long term post op and they will absolutely agree with me.  Even some is better than none.   O.k.  off my soap box, but I feel like I am doing a disservice to the pre ops and newly post ops unless I say something when it comes to exercise. Hugs!!!! Jillie

I am one of those that will agree wholeheartedly!!  I started out doing well, exercising every day (or so) during my first year...then we moved up here.  Got out of my element, my routine and thought to myself "oh, I will be FINE...I wont gain, my body will be fine"...  UH......NO.   Let's just say, that I have struggled with getting back into a routine of exercising and have gained some lbs, as well as things have "shifted" (to put it nicely...LOL).  Enough to scare the beejesus outta me and to try to move a bit more then I have been.   I am trying....as much as my back will let me!  How I MISS running!!! Long story short....LIFESTYLE CHANGE.....

Hi Vicki, I think we both know our limits on exercise.  Between 2 new knees, and a bad back, exercise will always evade me.  The only thing that I can do, and that still hurts my back is the pool, but even that is hard on the rest of me.   Just take things in stride as I do.  Eating is the key.  Exercise assists...sorry Julie just my opinion.   I hope that you have fun in San Diego at the lunch.  Have a great time. Diane, We all have our own opinions and thoughts.  I just wanted to put it out there.  Certainly, a lot of people have physical limitations on what they can do, but as I said, ANY is better than none.  It is a LIFESTYLE change, and that does include exercise, in whatever form a person can do.  Ask any doctor or long term post op.   Hugs, Jill
