Hey Guys,  I have blue cross HMO and I am supposed to self refer to get my

Psychological exam, I can't figure out if I am supposed to see a

Psychiatrist or the psychologist?  Which one did you guys see? I didn't even know there was a difference until my room mate told me lol   Thanks for the help! :)

Call your surgeon's office and ask if there's someone they can recommend you call. Good luck!
Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

My doctor's office has an on staff psychologist.  We did the interview over the phone. :) Check with your doctor, if he/she doesn't have one one staff, they'll know who to see. ---jan---

My surgeon's office said a psychologist was fine.  If you are near Huntington Beach, I can recommend Dr. Marc Bock (714-847-5350).

I went to a psychiatrist. But most WL surgeons have somebody they work with who can streamline it. Call them and ask for a referral. Good luck. Fern

i would check with your surgeon's office.  there might be someone they use.  my surgeon has a psychologist on staff, but i have my own psychiatrist so i used her for my referral.
