Lots of great news here on the boards......

Linda aka plans2behealthy has her surgery date of 7/23!! Wow did that go fast and a HUGE congrats to you Linda!!! It is all coming together....no smoking, and soon to be a loser!!! YAY you really are going to be healthy!!!

JJinCA aka Jan got her approval from her insurance....lickety split and it will be no time at all before she is shouting out here that she has  date also....very cool!

Kim S is home from her surgery last Friday and wow Kim I think you are setting the record for being up and out of bed so quick! Planning on running marathons? You know it is contagious around here....just note all the runners!!

Monica P has a NECK!!! Can you imagine we all find these parts of our bodies that we did not know existed? Monica...you just keep getting more beautiful each day!

Speaking of lookers....Ms. Jean....love your new board pic....and what about those jean short with no elastic. You know years ago when I got out of Levi bend over pants, I vowed that I would never wear any pants with an elastic band in them. I didn't and haven't with the exception of gym clothes. You really have done super fantastic!

Jen I know what you mean about getting some alone time. Yesterday I was supposed to pick up Hunter, but took a pass because I was just feeling burnt out. Although, James, Sandy and Ava came over for dinner ( I really had too much food on hand). Miss Ava....OMG ate some bbq shrimp and artichokes....she eats just about anything grandma gives her! You continue to be in my thoughts that your procedure goes well this week! Oh yeah and going to Ashland....how fun....really really nice place...rode through there one summer on my motorcycle.

Marcia good on you getting on that treadmill and working up a sweat. I have always hated the treadmill!! You are going to do great as exercising prior to surgery is a real good thing. I hope the smoke situation has settled down some up there for you and all the NorCAl peeps!

STeve you are killing me working outside in th garden all day!! I know you would have never ever thought in a million years that you would be doing something like that. I am just so happy for you and I know your garden must be kicking some butt now! It looked great when I saw it last month!

Speaking of gardens......Jodi you out there? I have not seen you posting to the boards and I hope that it means that you are out working in your garden albeit way too hot lately. Hope everything is okay!

Chris S...how did it go on your dil's first day of work and I surely hope that your grandson did not come down with the chicken pox. Where you able to get out there and get your shot for the shingles?

Sue I hope yesterday was not a super terrible day entering back into the work week. It is rough eh? How are you feeling and did that pack the doctor give you finally working. Thumb doing okay too? You sure have had a rough time of it!

Lola...the Salton Sea stench finally went away...usually more noticeable in the morning and you just get use to smelling it...it is pretty out there in its own weird way....I particular like the town where part of it was over taken by the water and over the course of years....it is just all salt like crystals on the dilapitated buildings and vehicles. Maureen how is your grandson doing with his asthma I know the fires must be really tough on the little guy! When we had those bad fires here last year...OMG I was dying!!! Glad you also had some fun with the box! Aren't those glasses a scream? I bought those off this little girl one night when I was in downtown...she proceeded to go back to the hotel where she got them at and bought another pair!!! I had my fun with them...now you will!

Ms. Shells you are feeling on top of the world and you got rid of that nasty headache...really sucks about having that heat headache. I think a lot of people really suffered in this heat wave we are experiencing.

Missy is holding on to secrets....ones mind can only imagine!

I see Miss Luana hid yesterday from all of us....BRAT!!! Oh by the way Miss LuLu..you know that guy Pete who was interested in Booger...well Scott called him and did ot sound interested....wanted to know if he had papers nd told my son he would call him back in 15 minutes and Scott has never heard from him...ask Kevin what gives please!

Vicki...are you excited to get out of Dodge and come to SD??? It sounds like you are going to have a celeb world wind time!!! When are you starting back with classes again or are you finished for a while?

Lisa B...is your son feeling better? I am sure he was bumme about cancelling his party....but he has a whole lifetime o parties ahead of him!

Diane C.....how are you feeling? Has that awful cold finally left you? Sure do miss you and miss you around here on the boards. I think you need to quit your job ad come out and play! Oh and Diane....woohoo on your shopping excursion!! I am probably going to be bowled over at how small you have gotten since we last saw each other....like FOREVER!

Monica W..you are just in the beginning of not being able to get things done....Jordyn will consume all your time..I know worse things could happen right??? Get those course done girl and get time for yourself!

Isenepthys....hope your caffine withdrawls are not too much of a nightmare...I did it once and was one sick cookie....I rather have the caffine than go through that one agan....YUCK!!!!

Katt I hope you get a good news from the ortho today and that you will get yourself in a walking cast and out of the cast all together soon! Did you go to your surgeon yesterday? Can't remember!

Penny R...welcome to the morning post too! I know exactly where Clayton is as I had a friend who use to live there.....oh and btw....Rabkin is a good doc...he did a DS on my friend 9 years ago and she is still doing good!

Oh and Lori C...hope your insurance gets that dog stuff taken care of..sucks! Hope your dad gets some strength back...he has been through quite and ordeal.

Kim aka Madame butterfly...are you just getting so excited about your surgery....just about a week to go now...and you are going to be even more fabulous than you already are!!! Well I do not know what today brings me....exercise, painting....and Hunter in the later afternoon is what I suspect. I think I will stumble back to bed for a while now after creating my own marathon!

Just remember that just because I did not shout you out, doesnt mean I do not care....just hard remembering everything I read!

Wow, not only am I posting on the morning thread, but I am first too!! woo hoo!!! I will say good morning before I head off to bed! lol  So, it doesn't feel like it has cooled down to me, it was suppose to I think! ha ha     What really amazes me though, is that as hot as it is, if I go somewhere that has AC, I actually get cold and have to put on a jacket!!! WTF is that, me COLD!!!! I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Can't go anywhere, anytime without my jacket ~ what a concept!!! lol

I'm hoping to get my car back today. Yup, the car I just got, broke down Friday (thank God my hubby was driving it)!!! Something in the transmission to the tune of $250!!! I swear we have BAD luck!!! So I was stuck all weekend again with no car! Just when I was getting use to the freedom of having a car again. lol   The doctors appointment on Friday was ok, won't know anything of course, but thanks for all the prayers and good vibes! I hope after the pysch appointment on July 1 they don't take too long to tell me their decision!       And July 3 is my PS consult for the possible panni removal with my hernia repair. So hopefully that surgery will be scheduled soon after that!!!! I so want to be done with that and find out what my stomach really looks like!!!  Ok, I'm off to bed now! Morning Janine and Cali - how is your hand doing?  Hope so much better!  I got my shingles shot - and the grandkids have NOT gotten chickenpox .. . the rash on Sunday night must have just been heat rash . . . TG.  I'm thinking it is getting cooler because I'm sitting here at the computer and actually am quite cool sitting by my open window . . . that feels SO GOOD!  I don't like heat! Good Tuesday Morning to you and all the Kool Kali Kids Janine! How is the hand doing kiddo? Were you able to get any more of the thorns out? I shiver every time I think about you and that accident! After my burst of energy working the in garden Sunday, feeling good moving, even in the heat, I ending up feeling crappy around lunchtime yesterday and by the time I left work I knew I had this damn summer cold! I suppose it would have been hard not to catch it since Darrell came down with it  last week and two co-workers did the same so I was surrounded by cold viruses all last week! LOL Oh, well, nothing much to do except stock up on cough drops and kleenex! D's started a week ago yesterday and he was about over it by this past Sunday and I hope that I have the same, or a better, recovery! The garden is looking good and the best it has since we had that backyard makeover in autumn of 06. Of course there is still work to be done and the plants are still young but in a couple of years it should be fabulous and lu****hen again, being who I am, I will always be tweaking and changing things out... I'm never satisfied and a garden is a living, breathing enitiy that needs constant guidence and inspiration. I love it! Time for a refill of the coffe mug so I will head on out by wishing you and all the Cali Crew a Terrific Tuesday (ah-CHOO! Yuck, didn't get the kleenex fast enough for that sneeze. Poor monitor! LOL) and remind everyone tp stay cool and hydrated Janine!       

Good MOrning Janine and crew As always - great shout out Janine - and thanks for the compliments - I actually posted that picture of the "no elastic waist" for  you.....as a little while ago when I was bragging about "regular" jeans you said you wanted to see a picture....lol.   Not alot for me today - getting my hair cut and the roots colored and then making a stop at a shop called "Greater LA Woman" in Belmont Shore.  I have a gift certificate for there and want to check out what they have. I am so glad it is cooling down..... Well I am off to get another cup of java and read the paper before I get ready for my day. Janine - did you get all the thorns out?  Hope so.

WELL I HAVE BEEN TAKING CARE OF MY DAUGHTER VANESSA AS SHE HAS KIDNEY STONES. SHE HAD TO GO TO THE HOSPITAL AND HAVE THEM BLASTED. SHE'S BEEN IN A LOT OF PAIN AND THEY MAY HAVE TO BLAST THEM AGAIN, SO THAT HAS BEEN TAKING UP SOME TIME, ALONG WITH TAKING CARE OF MY GRANDDAUGHTER. 

HUBBY AND MY SON AND DAUGHTER IN LAW AND GRAND DAUGHTER KAIYA WENT TO MOJAVE ON HIS MOMS HOUSE BOAT ALONG WITH HIS MOM AND ONE OF HIS 5 BROTHERS AND SISTER IN LAW AND NEPHEWS AND NIECES. I WANTED TO GO BUT I THINK IT WAS BETTER I STAYED HOME WHERE I COULD BE IN THE COOL HOUSE. THE HOUSE BOAT IS AIRCONDITIONED BUT WHAT FUN WOULD THAT BE JUST TO SIT IN SIDE AND TALK WITH MY MOTHER IN LAW.. AHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH NO THANKS... AND IT WAS 113 TO 120 SO I IT WAS BETTER TO STAY HOME AND TAKE CARE OF VANESSA AND MY FLOWERS.. 

OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE HOW HOT IS WAS. I HAD TO MOVE ALL MY FLOWERS THAT WERE IN POTS TO A SHADY AREA. I'M NOT SURE IF I'M GOING  TO LOOSE ANY OR NOT. THEY WERE SO PRETTY BEFORE THE HEAT. I WAS VERY PROUD OF MY SELF. MY HYDRANGEAS I AM HOPING WITH A LOT OF WATER AND TLC WILL COME BACK. IF IT WASN'T ONE THING IT WAS ANOTHER. 

I HAVE BEEN IN A LOT OF PAIN WITH MY HANDS AND ARMS. I AM GOING TO THE DR. TODAY AND SEE WHAT DR. HE WANTS ME TO GO TO NEXT. I HAVE OSTEOPINEA AND ARTHRITIS BUT THEY WANT TO MAE SURE IT'S NOT RHUEMATOID. SOMETHING ALL THE TIME THESE DAY. 

HUBBY FINALLY GOT BACK AND HE SAID IT'S NOT THE SAME WITH OUT ME. PLUS HE'S NOT AS YOUNG AS HE USE TO BE. BUT MY GRAND DAUGHTER KAIYA DID HER FIRST TUBING BEHIND THE BOAT. SHE LOVES IT. MIND YOU SHE 8 YEARS OLD SO GLAD GRANDMA WASN'T THERE TO HAVE A HEART ATTACK,

WELL I MUST GO THE TRIBE IS WAKING UP AND THAT MEANS GOT TO GET BREAKFAST. THANKS SO MUCH FOR THE SHOUT OUT JANINE AND JENI AND ANYONE ELSE THAT WAS LOOKING FOR ME. I REALLY FEEL THE LOVE HERE.

Good morning Janine and Cali! Yes, update on the hand and the thorns please...... It definately cooled off on the coast yesterday. DH is a very happy man and Sammi to. she didn't tolerate the heat very well either. I'm so tired of not feeling good that I refuse to talk about it. The thumb is definately on the mend. I have most of my range of motion but am still lacking some strength and some things still hurt a little. It is progressing though and I can NOT complain about that. Sammi is home from school today with that nasty little summer cold. She sneezed her little head off for 40 minutes straight this morning and that got ALL the faucets going. She looked like she felt miserable. Grandma has her today and they will probably cuddle and read and most of the day. Well, better get my butt back to work. Hope everyone has a great day! Sue

Good Morning To all!  It's smokey here and totally awful.  Breathing is horrible!  Jayden is doing ok with it all so far - only a couple of hits on the inhaler.  We make sure he takes his oral meds daily.  He is at the sitters today and they're going to take in the $1 movies today.  He wakes up and is so eager to go to Candi's for the day!  They do the water slides, the $1 movies, story day at the library, Turtle Bay and all kinds of fun and interesting things. Ended up taking hubby to the ER last night.  He has a muscle in his neck that's all knotted up and won't relax.  Didn't get home until about midnight.  Got him some valium, warmed up a moist towel for him and tucked him into his chair.  It's a bit better, but he still makes "that noise" that sounds like a growling yell.  Getting him in for a massage this afternoon. I have my consult this afternoon and hopefully everything will go ok and they will send my file up to the doctor's office to schedule appointment with the docs.  Moving along one step at a time. Happy Tuesday! Can someone tell me the reason we can't drive after surgery? I am feeling fabulous and bummed that I can't go anywhere. I walked a mile this morning, had some protein and working on my water. I can drink more than what is recommended, so I am trying to slow down so I don't pop my stitches. Believe it or not, I have done a marathon already! I can't wait to train again. I have my mind set on a triathlon eventually. I don't think I want to do a full marathon ever again LOL.
