Thank you all for your well wishes! What a weekend. It started on Thursday for my pre op at 1:30. I had to be on clear liquids all day. I got registered for surgery at Scripps and went upstairs for our pre op meeting. They talked about the procedure, we got weighed and measured for a stomach binder. I ended up losing 10 lbs from consult to surgery. 30 from the beginning of the process. I had tried to get a place at Sommerset Suites, but they were booked. However, when we got to SD, we decided to stop in and and see if they had a cancellation and they did. So, after the preop appt, we went there and I drank more liquids. My surgery was at 7:30 and we had to be there at 5 am. They weighed me again and I got a pretty purple gown and cute socks with little paws on the bottom and a cap. I got my lovely IV and was wheeled into surgery around 7:45. The anesthesiologist was making jokes, and that was all I remembered until I woke up in recovery feeling like poop. I was very nauseous and I couldn't keep my eyes open. I got meds for the nausea and was in recovery for about 2 hours then I went to my room. I was very excited to get out of bed, I don't know why. I jumped right up when the nurse asked me to and was off and running. I was pretty bored in the hospital, so I just walked and walked and walked. That is about it. I had very little pain. They also fixed a hernia I had, so my belly button is a bit sore, but that is it. I am tolerating my ounce of liquid just fine. It is so hard to believe that I haven't eaten any food since Thursday and I am okay with it. I had two bites of SF jello and I felt my pouch full. As for energy, I feel the same as I did before surgery. I am so happy to be home!
