Hi Dawn!  I think it is horrible that you cant get proper medical care.  Hare you tried Cedars Sinai?  They have a bariatrics program there so I know they have large size equipment.  Good Luck and please try and find a good primary care physician who will guide you through this process.  April

*hugs*  i'm really appalled that you aren't getting proper medical care.  how frustrating. here's the link to cedars-sinai bariatrics page:  http://www.csmc.edu/2432.html  they don't mention their equipment, but if you click the "have questions" box in the upper righthand corner, it gives you some phone numbers to call.  it might be a good place to start. i don't know any md's in the los angeles area, but someone else around here might.  this board has been a wonderful resource for me with tons of warm, welcoming people willing to offer advice, experience and support.  i think going to a primary md will be a good first start.  if you can get worked up as an outpatient, i know that there are some places that specialize in things like open mri/ct for obese patients.
