I would like to hear from anyone that has had surgery from Dr. Quiroz at CosMed in TJ MX. I met wih him for a consultation for a lower body lift and brest lift. I was impressed, but a bit scared.

I had surgery with Dr Q he is awsome.  I had a LBL, boobs and arms done.  No matter who you go to you are going to be scared.  The only thing i would change would be getting pain meds from my PCP for my first surgery.  The MX meds did not take the pain away for me.  On my second round i got pain meds from my PCP and it was much easier.

My husband came with me and we stayed at the Lucerna Hotel.  We drove down its about a 10 to 12 hour drive.  I had surgery on a Tuesday and was home here by Friday.  Dr Q said i could go home if i wanted too and i did.  However, i have an awsome PCP up here that was willing to do my follow-up.  You are so close and if you have someone going with you i would rather recover at home.   The hardest part of the surgery for me was the fat grafting to the butt if it wasnt for that i think my recovery would have been easy.    I was a little difficut to get out of bed the first week.  I did make a bunch of meals for my husband so i knew he would be fed.  He works very long hours and than would come home and take care of me.  I would suggest getting extra pillows of you dont already have them.  Since you are getting your boobs done got to Walmart and go get some front close sports bras.  I think the name is bestform and they are like 7 bucks.  Also get some tank tops to wear under your binder so it doesnt sweat and itch.  I could not shower until my stiches were out so be prepared to give your self a sponge bath.  You will have drains and what i did was put them inside my boyshort underwear.  Rememeber when you take pain meds it makes it harder to poop, so have some stole softners on hand.   Remember to wear somthing that you might not want to ruin.  This is some of the stuff i could think of now.  If you can get your PCP to write you antibiotics and pain meds you will save some money.  We sent almost 200 pucks on meds in TJ for the first surgery.  Some of that is because me more than one script for pain meds because they werent helping.   Matter of fact i still have them.  Second surgery i had boobs and arms and got PCP here to give me meds and it cost less than 20 bucks, and they worked.  Dr Q is awsome.  Good Luck

I haven't been lucky enough to have plastics yet, but if I ever get the chance to get new boobies, I will definitely be going to Quiroz!!! I know several people who went there and are very happy with the results and look fantastic. I have been there when Quiroz worked on one of the girls and it is VERY obvious that he takes GREAT pride in his work!!! I was VERY impressed.  Here is a couple links to a couple of the girls I'm talking about and they can answer your questions first hand. I do know that there is a hotel in San Ysidro that is fairly cheap and has a free shuttle that takes you from the hotel to CosMed. I however have no idea if you can do that right away postop, but they should know. I know Kirsten stayed there later, but don't know where she stayed the first time and I don't know where Michelle stayed. Here are their links, ask them! http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/kirsten117/ http://www.obesityhelp.com/member/mdvicari/ I am so jealous and VERY excited for you sweetie! You are going to be so thrilled with the results.  May God bless your PS journey!!!  biggest hugs, Becky
