The Truth About Post RNY Surgery and GAS!!!
Hi fellow RNY Post Ops,
I am 4 months post op, doing well and my digestive systems has developed a very gassy nature. Both trapped and painful gas bubbles that can take hours to move through the intestines I never knew i had before. And, then there is the constant flatulance that is alarming. I use Gas-X and Beano, yet I never really learned about this pre-surgically.
Is anyone willing to shed some light and truth on a this simply un-pleasent condition?
Thanks a million
There is no easy way to put it......prepare to be gassy, the paint peeling off the walls kind. I am almost 4 years out and I still can clear the room, but nothing like Ms Nadine
. There are mornings that I find my hubby and 2 cats asleep in the living room, especially if I have indulged in too many carbs or sugar alcohols
Devrom helps some and can be found online. I tried it and it did not help me so I have just learned to live with it and move quickly when it escapes.

Devrom is something you can take to kind take the stinks down. I have never used it myself. If you are worried about gas..don't be. I remember my former shrink was worried about me having this surgery because of my issues with bathroom matters too (never in public if you know what I mean).
Well the only time I have EVER gotten paint peelers is like Sheryl when I got into the carbs too much or sugar alcohols. I stay away from them now completely.
Don't worry if you stay compliant with your doctors protocal....you will do fine! Good luck to you....in less than a month we can call you LOSER!!!!
