I have the same lunch everyday.  Chopped salad greens, grilled chicken strips from Trader Joes that I defrost in the microwave....a low cal dressing, a few feta chesse crumbles and maybe some walnuts.  I really enjoy it and I eat about 1/2 a cup.

Today I'm having the exact same thing, but without the chicken. I left it at home this morning.

My pouch hurts!!!  Feels like it's too full!!! :(  I didn't eat fast, and I chewed well....like I always do.

What did I do wrong???   When will it stop hurting??

Honey you did nothing wrong.  You have what is called  "refridgerator roullette"  what works today and for weeks may not work tomorrow or the next.  Give it  a few and try again.  It happens to me all the time.

Thanks Sue, it's almost 2 hours later and it still hurts. Not as bad as it did before...but still. :(

Once in a while my pouch feels sore...it's weird and I do not eat additional food throughout the day other than water.  Most of the time it goes away fairly quickly (within a few hours) but I know not to eat much the remainder of the day. I don't know if this is normal but you're not alone on this one.

"sore" that's exactly how I would describe it.  Sort of like that sharp pain you get in your side when you run too fast, except it was in my pouch.

I don't ever want to eat again. :(

Hey Monica, You look amazing. The one and only time this happened to me was also from eating salad and some other veggies.  I felt really really full and could not understand it because I had not even eaten half of what I normally would have.  I waited for it to go away, and it didn't.  I ended up throwing up (the one and only time I ever threw up even to this day) and I felt better.  I think something got lodged in an uncomfortable way and after I vomited I felt better instantly.  Just happens sometimes.  No ryme or reason really.  Try chewing some gum but be careful not to swallow it.

For me, I've always had some problems with salad. Even pre-op I never did good with leafy vegetables that were too "soft". It was almost as if they would stick to the walls of my stomach and get stuck there. I can eat an iceberg lettuce salad or romaine hearts with no problem but give me some fresh spinach or the ends of the romaine lettuce and I feel terrible.

Maybe missing out on the chicken made a big enough difference in the way the salad settled in your pouch. It's a long shot but since that is the only thing different between what you ate today and what you've been eating for weeks/months that's the only thing I can say might have caused it.

One of these days you'll get the stomach flu (not saying you have it now).  When I first got a stomach flu (about 6 months after WLS)...I thought something must be wrong with the pouch.  As others have said, add the chicken or rotate and come back to the salad in a few days.  Brian

Hi Monica Yep, food roulette, gotta love it...NOT!  I get it every now and then.  Hope you feel better soon. I am experiencing another WLS phenominon I call "tummy turbulance".  It sounds like a volcano ready to erupt inside my tummy.  One thing for sure, I will not stray too far from the little girls room!  Hope that's not TMI!
