one week out

You've all been so supportive, and inquiring how I'm doing, I realized I should do a post. 6 days out, post-op, lost 15 lbs.  8 days out now, feeling good:  no pain, no nausea, no dumping (yet).  Going out tonight to a friend's play, bathed my dog last night.  Bladder freeze cured by flomax and Cran-Max; good stuff.  Eating very easy, mashed foods.  Without my bladder complication, I have to say this surgery was  a breeze.  Dr. Higa really kept an eye on me, calling me at home even.  Sore for a few days, still kinda tired, but WOW, it's  over.  Fern

Hi Fern...just like Lori said, it's only just begun!  I see how much I've changed in the 8 months since I had this done and I wouldn't change a minute of it.  I'm happier, have more energy and don't mind having my picture taken...lol  Do check in from time to time on here, it's great support for everyone.  You never know who you'll be helping when you pose a question or a problem you're having.  We're all learning how to use this tool!   xo  Kim

Thanks for posting Fern.  I had a feeling you'd be rid of that stupid cathater real soon.  Enjoy the ride.  Brian
