Hi! :-) Next weekend is my anniversary and we are thinking about spending the weekend in Palm Springs.  I havent been there in years and have no idea where to stay.  When I look online I see so many different hotels but am a little nervous about booking a hotel and having no idea what its really like.  Does anyone have any ideas of where to stay that wont cost a  fortune? Thanks! Tammy

When I go to PS, it's for a conference, not a romantic weekend, so all I care about is whether they have a good wireless internet connection.  I'm sure any of the big hotels would have all the amenities you want, but if you're looking to save money, I've always gotten a good price at the Royal Sun.  All the rooms have the basics:  TV, fridge, coffeemaker, etc.  There's a pool and hot tub, and some of the rooms have private patios.  It's your basic motel, so if you and DH plan to spend all your time in the hotel,   you may want to upgrade to one of the finer establishments.  However, if you're just looking for an inexpensive place to sleep   and keep your stuff while you explore Palm Springs, the Royal Sun may be the place for you.

Tammy I live here and if you are looking for a cool place to stay and it is right in the heart of downtown it would be Hotel Zoso. It is a beautiful place. There is also Hyatt on Palm Canyon....one block up for the heart of downtown. The Spa Casino also has a hotel a couple of blocks away....and I know there several hotels on Tahquitz that are quite nice and are within walking distance from the downtown area. Pretty much anything close to downtown will be good because they do not want to chance a bad rep and not book guests for sure. Right now rates are going to be cheaper anywhere here because it is out of season for snowbirds too.

If you do come and you and your hubby want a great place to eat...that would be The Falls. We go there for things like anniversaries and little romantic things....bit pricey, but GREAT food....it is a steakhouse. Also if you come....make sure you bring plenty of sunblock!!!

Happy Anniversery to the both of you! Happy Anniversary

One of the conferences I attended was at the Zoso, and Janine is right . . . it's beautiful.  I couldn't afford to stay there, but if the rooms are as nice as the lobby and conference rooms, you'll be very happy there.  And if you can get an off-season discount, your wallet will be happy, too!

The Miramonte Resort is one of my favs and they are not too expensive.  They have an amazing spa so try and get the package.  My hubby and I did a couples thing and we were very spoiled.  Highly recommended.  It is a little bit further down the strip closer to Palm Dessert - but we like the distance.  The view is nice as well. :)  http://www.miramonteresort.com/well_spa.php (they also have a AAA rate)

LOL at dessert as opposed to Desert!   I guess I have food on the mind since I am 4 days from pre-op diet.
