My swimming disaster...
I went swimming today. It has been a while. You know how you can get back on a bike after many years and not lose a step? Well, I don't think it happens after WLS with swimming. My form was terrible. Also I think because of the weight loss I have less boyency. I am sinking easier (I float lower in the water). Loss of muscle mass may play into it. It's funny we go back and are trying many things we did in our youth after WLS. We may try swimming, walking, biking, jogging, racquetball, weighlifting, hiking, etc. It seems whatever we are decent at after WLS, that is what we will gravitate to. Swimming may not be my cup of tea. Brian

I used to swim like a (slightly impaired) fish before WLS!! I mean, I didn't have any kind of training, or good form or anything, but I could swim, float, tread water, after my own fashion all day! Loved it!
I'm like you now... it's really hard to stay afloat!!
Yup, all that fat did keep us bouyant!!

Wow, I never even thought of that! Whenever I went swimming before, I always felt like a beach ball that had a hard time doing anything but floating on top of the water! I should try it now, while I'm still "obese", but not quite a beach ball! Maybe there's a medium amount of fat that is just perfect for swimming! LOL!
Well I hope you find a sport that you enjoy, and I'm sure most sports will lend themselves nicely to your leaner frame!
