I hope you all have fun at support group and a great weekend...I'll see ya next month! Maybe we can plan a lunch for after the meeting????

Good morning everyone.
I've been watching for a few days and figure it's time to get my feet wet. I'm a weee bit further north than most of you. Gualala is 3 hours north of San Francisco, on the coast.
I saw Dr Jossart (LAPSF) May 2, had my psych eval, dietitian eval, all my prelim medical things done except blood work due 2 weeks before surgery. My insurance kicked back my request saying they wanted a support letter from my GP. I faxed her the request last night. Waiting is not my favorite thing but I've been using the time wisely, reading tons of information on BBs, posts, and books as well as trying protein powders and playing mad scientist in the kitchen with all manner of blended foods. lol
I posted a few things on my profile page but haven't figured out how to get my picture here yet.
Today is a kick back day, which means getting in my 10k steps, taking my vitamins, reading and eating well.
Be well and have a great day.

Good Morning Steve and Calif Friends!
Well today I am cleaning house.trying to find a sitter for Tommy, my grandson. I think he will be living with me for the summer. thins are not working out to good with Mom and Dad's living arrangements....
It's all good with me though! He's a sweety. and I love him with all of my heart! He feels safe and secure at Grandma & Grandpa's house so right now this is the place for him to be! I would keep him forever in a heart beat!
I guess they are having something going on at the elemtary school down the street with a water slide for the kids and bbq, so we may walk down and check that out with the neighbors.
I also got a letter in the mail from Mercy Breast Health in regards to my mammo that I had earlier this week stating that further testing is required. I'm a bit freaked out about that. Has anyone in here ever had a needle biopsy done? Does it hurt real bad?
I'm also thinking "What the heck are they gonna find next!" It seems as of late everytime I go to the doc for one thing they find another!
I'm scared.......I admit it!
Well gotta get my mind onto something else....i don't want little boy seeing grandma upset.
Love ya, and have a great, great day you guys!
Jeni
Hi Jeni,
I had a needle biopsy done in February. They took an extra mamogram, put me on a table with a slit in it and your boob goes down in the slit. They give you lydocaine ( I felt just a pinch) so you don't feel anything while the actual needle goes in. The waiting for the news was the worst part. Thankfully, my biopsy was negative. :)
Be well,

Happy Saturday everyone! We are just hanging out today. It feels good to have nothing to do. I ended up getting an A on my nursing final and an A in the class. Yea me! I am doing the high protein, very lo carb diet this week before my surgery. I am trying hard not to think about food. It is good practice for after the surgery. I can't believe it is less than a week away!
