I'm not so much into the iced thing but while on vacation recently I sent my son in to get me my venti six shooter and he came back with an iced americano - I got pretty ticked off but didn't have tiime to fix it and drank it - it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected... might even be nice when it's hot out! I only hit Starbucks about once a month.  I get a regular coffee for $1.55.  Add their milk and Splenda (I'm a cheapskate if you didn't know).  For the budget minded person...I go to McDonalds.  I get their Premium Blended coffees for 68 cents (they give me the senior discount even though I'm 52).  I add their 1/2 and 1/2, their sugar, and their Splenda.  When you add in all they paid for, my cup cost about 50 cents.  I only drink 1/2 a cup and save the other half to be reheated for the next day.  I think they'll even give you one refill too.  Trying not to "stick it to the man" but if they're offering...I'm taking.  Brian

Hi Brian - I've been trying to work McD's into my routine but haven't made it yet. Sounds like you have a good system worked out! C h e e r s, gene

I guess it is pretty common to start up the coffee thing post op. I always HATED coffee, though I drank my share of Diet Coke pre-op.

Now, I start my day with a venti skinny iced cinnamon dulce latte plus energy.

On the days when I am broke, I make an extra strong pot at home, and add a shot of sugar free caramel syrup and a dash of sugar free french vanilla creamer. Not as good as SBX but it works for me.

It probably is a good idea to cut back on the caffiene, but a little is ok. Also, coffee was THE number 1 cure to my constipation problems.

Try making it at home if you don't want to give it up completely!

Good luck!

I like to make coffee at home but seldom have the time, or rather, the forethought to get it done. Since summer is about hear maybe that can be a solution for me! C h e e r s, gene

I hear you.  As the self proclaimed VentiVixen, that is what is says on my personalized SB card,  I vote for the summer job at  any Green straw crack house (my nephew calls it that)  I love my store every morning my drink is on the counter waiting for me.  They watch me pull in. I hope you find a way to fill the need buddy.  I live far from you, but because you are such a great guy I will order an extra grande every morning and consume it for you okay?

Hey VentiVixen - I think the atmosphere is a big part of why I like SBX... it's like Cheers - where everybody knows your name - my local store is very cool with lots of friends and past students working there - thanks for thinking of me with that extra grande! C h e e r s, gene

So Mr. Starbucks addict what does something woth all those extra shots cost?  Dang dude., you must have a cast iron gut.  If I drink caffeine for sure I will be hurting for certain.  My tummy can only handle maybe one decaf coffee a day. Liz

Hi Liz - the cost is the whole reason it's over... caffeine doesn't bother me at all - but yeah, prolly saving a few hundred bucks a month by clamping off this "luxury." C h e e r s, gene
