Missing a Friend...
Some of you know that I'm a Starbucks addict... I usually start off my days with a venti-6-shot Americano... no room for cream, thanks! By the time work is through I'm ready for another, or perhaps just a grande Red-Eye... you know... a grande drip with an add-shot. And if I were on my way to an evening job, otherwise known as a "gig" then a grande Red-Eye was an automatic stop on the way to the gig.
Well... summer is in the air... my students are going nuts in pre-summer anxiety. They are all getting ready for their finals and planning out their use of all their free time... and I'm here beginning my jonesing... see - I stopped SBX cold turkey on Monday. I didn't notice much on Monday, but on Tuesday I woke up with that familiar "where's my caffeine" headache. I don't have any tylenol at the house so I had to wait till I got to my classroom. Made a cup of tea - "Constant Comment" with 2 spenda's, and dropped my tylenol. Today was the same thing - we had a staff meeting so I grabbed a cup of CSC (Crappy School Coffee) and now I' m makin' my tea.
I know the caffeine isn't great for me, but it's my DOC(Drug of Choice) - I don't drink or smoke - this is my big vice. But with summer here I realize that I no longer have a Starbucks income... my household income goes to less than 25% during Aug/Sept... So now I'm missing my old friend and trying to find a job so that I can at least stop by to visit once in a while... maybe not everyday like I'm used to!
Ok... thanks for letting me get that out!

Hi Jaime - I fell into the shopping bug following surgery - at first it was cause I "needed" clothes that fit - but now it's more of being able to wear what ever I want... I'm especially a sucker for jackets, hoodies, or anything that will help me stay warm - I'll buy them at the drop of a hat if I"m cold and forgot to bring one! I was in San Diego a few weeks ago and too 2 jackets and a few hoodies - went out to dinner with Kirsten and Kevin and forgot to take a jacket so as we were wandering around some shops I found a cheap hoodie... great - even less space in my closet!
