Thought I might die
I went in to the hospital for what started out as a simple procedure. I had to have a cardiac stress test, and because I can't walk that much, they stressed it with medicine instead of exercise Well, I came very close to "coding" all I remember is telling the nurse that my chest really hurt, I heard another nurse kinda yell to get a doctor that I was diaphoretic and something about my SV waves diving, my blood pressure dropped from 150/98 to 90/50. I then woke up with another IV and was told they had to keep me to observe me overnight. They gave me three sprays of nitro under my tongue and had be lay down with my lower body raised and my head was towards the floor. It was the scariest thing I have ever experienced. I for a brief period of time honestly felt that I was going to die. My Dr had me do an angiogram which was totally normal. I felt better as the day went on, so he let me leave tonight, but i have to take it easy the next few days. Anyways, I know I rambling, but out of all that scary stuff he found nothing wrong with my heart and is going to clear me for surgery. I told him that I have not anything physical in years and I told him my heart is just really really pissed off at me for abusing it all these years, so it decided to take a little revenge. It worked!!!! I will be calling Dr. LePorts office tomorrow and faxing them the cardiac clearance and then I should have my date within the next 10 days or so.
Thank you all for you support. I have learned so much from all of you

OMG Linda - that is so freeking scary and I am so so so glad everything is ok. I wonder if they gave you a little to much of the adenosine? YIKES....I had the same stress test and definitely know that it is not fun....but mine went ok. At least everything is ok. I know they told me if there was any problem with mine I would have to have an angiogram...but, mine showed a little something off and they did some special kind of CT scan with dye which proved everything ok.
I am so sorry you had to go through this but thank the good lord that everything is ok. Where did you have it done?
You are going to get your date in no time and be joining us on that losers bench very very soon. Hey, hang in there my friend.....and I can't wait to see your "I've got a date" post."
Big hugs to you
Thank you for all of your support. I had it done at LB Memorial Heart Institute. The nurses there rocked! they were all so sweet. I have to follow up with the cardiologist in two weeks to adjust my BP meds. I am hoping that once I lose weight, maybe I won't need them anymore. All I know is that I never want to go through another adenoscan again. ...........ever!
