RNY with Proctitis (x post)

I have ulcerative proctitis (a mild form of colitis that only effects the lowest part of the colon). I have read that colitis is a contraindication for RNY. Does anyone know specifically why it is contraindicated? ( I imagine it is because of the malabsorbsion issue???) I think that with my weight the RNY could be the best option for me. Can I just take lots of supplements, or are there other reasons why colitis patients shouldn't have RNY? Thanks for any info!!!

That's something you really need to discuss with a doctor. Every one is different and we all have our different recoveries..... We are here for support and can not give medical advise per se. But we can recommend you seeking a doctor for those answers. Good luck.
